[patch/cygwin]: Change to README file
Hi,
could somebody with checking rights please apply the below patch?
It's only a small fix to the README file to remove a reference
to the obsolete minires-devel package, and to add the reference
to the libedit-devel package since CYgwin now provides libedit as well.
Thanks,
Corinna

[patch/cygwin]: Fix documentation
Hi,
could somebody with checkin rights please apply the below patch?
It modernizes and improves readability of the Cygwin README file
(which hasn't been updated for ages), drops unsupported OSes from
the ssh-host-config help text, and drops an unneeded option from
ssh-user-config.
Thanks in advance,
Corinna

I am trying to build openssh-4.3p2 portable source under Cygwin running

openssl097 0.9.7i-1

zlib 1.2.3-1
I used the instructions in openssh-4.3p2/contrib./cygwin/README

[PATCH] contrip/cygwin: Reworking the installation support
Hi,
the below patch to contrib/cygwin is a major rework to allow various
changes in the installation process on Cygwin machines. The important
changes are:
- New Makefile, providing a `cygwin-postinstall' target which allows
to create a base installation as in the Cygwin distribution, which
should be run right after a `make install'.
- Additional information given in the README

buildpkg.sh enhancements
I've made some changes to buildpkg.sh to make it easier for package
builders to add their local changes.
I'd like people that use buildpkg.sh to test and comment on these
changes before I commit them to CVS.
None of the defaults have changed.
Some of the patch is is just moving chunks of code to a different
location to make some of the enhancements work.

Hi,
could somebody with checkin rights please apply the below patch
to the Cygwin postinstall Makefile? The patch adds two changes:
- Install ssh-copy-id and ssh-copy-id.1 as well.
- Gzip all man pages.
Thanks in advance,
Corinna

Patch : fix configure.in and Makefile.am problems.
Note : I'm subscribed to the list. Please don't CC replies to me.
Hi all,
I am trying to compiler current CV head on a PowerPC G3 Debain system.
Debian test has automake 1.9 which is a little more stringent about
errors than 1.8. The following patch has the following fixes.
0) Remove AC_CANNONIAL_HOST because it has already been invoked
earlier

[PATCH] Drop two useless HAVE_CYGWIN
Hi,
the below patch removes two special cases for Cygwin, which are already
superfluous for a good while.
- openbsd-compat/bsd-openpty.c: Since openpty() is implemented in Cygwin
now, the bsd-openpty.c code just isn't build into OpenSSH on Cygwin.
So the Cygwin special case is useless.
- When building OpenSSH for Cygwin, the minires-devel package (development
package for the special

the below patch makes the query for the localized name of the local

[PATCH] p2v: Compress virt-p2v binary and store it in $libdir/virt-p2v (RHBZ#1382275).
Currently 'make install' installs the virt-p2v binary in
/usr/libexec/virt-p2v on the host. It is never supposed to be run
from there, even by another program, so use of /usr/libexec is
incorrect. It is only supposed to be copied into USB keys / ISOs /
etc created by virt-p2v-make-* scripts.
The other problem with shipping a "naked" binary on the host is that
packages built

Chasing the "ads_add_machine_acct: Insufficient access" problem
Okay, the jist of this whole thing, I get this infamous (?) problem, I
have been trying to search though the archives of samba-general on gmane
and also in my archive of this list. I have only seen requests for the
magical answer.
Environment: W2K/W2K3 mixed ADS going Native ADS only soon. Samba 3.0.4
compiled from source on a RHEL AS30 machine. MIT Kerberos v1.3.4 also
compiled from source.

dovecot 1.0-test52 build notes
I thought I would try to use 'configure' to lay out the dovecot install
a little differently than the default. I prefer all the support files
under one tree (e.g. in /usr/local/lib/dovecot-1.0) rather than
distributed around the filesystem. And I'd be happiest if all of the
support files were just at that top level rather than in subdirectories.

[patch] Still a problem with cleanup.c
Hello,
There is still a problem with the _exit_cleanup() function in
cleanup.c despite the patch that was put in last week that prevented
recursion. It turns out that sometimes multiple calls in close
sequence are done and this causes rsync to spin out of control
instead of exiting.
This bug was found by Marc Espie and the patch I'm including is
his as well. It hasn't been commited

Problems compiling PostgreSQL package from FC8 on CentOS 5
Dear CentOS list
we are a small software company making mostly web driven GIS software.
We started to simplify out sysadmin life making RPM packages of most of
the GIS software stack. For a dependency issue we had to abandon the
upstream 8.1 PostgreSQL and install at least a 8.2 version. Taking the
package from Fedora 8 and rebuilding it for x86_64 went smoothly.
Unfortunatly the same is

problem building lvm2-cluster on ia64
I am trying to install GFS on an ia64 cluster. I have been going by the Red Hat GFS 6.1 Administrator's Guide, and have built all the source rpms necessary except for one - lvm2-cluster-2.02.06-7.0.RHEL4.src.rpm is failing every single time at this place:
gcc -shared -Wl,-soname,liblvm2cmd.so.2.02 \
-Wl,--version-script,.export.sym -lselinux -lsepol -ldl -o liblvm2cmd.so -Wl,-whole-archive

issues/workarounds to build dovecot on OSX
hi all,
a few notes/issues re: building dovecot on OSX.
first, after DL of cvs-head,
% autogen.sh
reports:
autogen.sh: line 2: libtoolize: command not found
o OSX, 'libtoolize' has been sed'd to glibtoolize.
couple of ways to deal with this:
(a) edit in autogen.sh
aclocal
--- libtoolize --force
+++ glibtoolize --force
automake --add-missing
autoheader
autoconf

2.2.7a on MacOS X 10.2.2 giving "failed to set gid" error
I have been trying to get 2.2.7a to work on my Mac running 10.2.2. The configure, compile and install went through fine except for a few warnings. When I attempt to connect to the machine, I get the following errors:

Failed to set gid privileges to (0,99) now set to (99,99) uid=(0,0)
