Potential Patch
Hey folks,
Here at USC we have a few changes we make to the source code for various
reasons -- and we have to make them for each new version. I always shrugged
off sending a patch in because the changes felt very internal, but the more I
think about it, the more I think perhaps they would be good for the main tree.
Additionally, the more of this that gets into the main tree the easier

[Bug 125] add BSM audit support
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125
------- Additional Comments From phil at usc.edu 2005-02-25 13:09 -------
So we've done some internal testing with the latest snapshot over the last two
days, and things look good. It's not a thorough test, but the logging is as we
would expect, and everything else looks as expected.
A huge thanks to all the people who helped with

[Patch] Makefile.in, new install-nosysconf target
For various reasons, it makes our life easier at USC to have a
'install-nosysconf' target much like the install-nokeys target that was added
a while back.
I mentioned this a few months back on this list and people seemed to think it
wouldn't be a problem to get it into the mainline tree.
I've attached the patch -- it should keep 100% backwards compatibility.
Thanks.

openssh and kerb 1.4.1 not so happy together
Folks,
I seem to have a problem when I upgraded our kerberos from 1.3.1 to 1.4.1 (MIT
krb 5), all of a sudden I can't ssh as another user.
i.e.
ssh host
works but
ssh joe at host
doesn't work. Same with scp's.
I've tried recompiling ssh (even though the so-name of kerb libs didn't
change), but it didn't work, and still no go... I'm using openssh 3.9p1 on
Solaris

Some GSSAPI/Kerberos Questions
After reading some more from the archives, a private email, and some
general research, I see that KerbV support has been dropped in favor
of GSSAPI.
Which is fine, and wonderful, I support GSSAPI.
But, erm, the announcement says, "This release contains some GSSAPI
user authentication support to replace legacy KerberosV authentication
support. At present this code is still considered

New Mirror
This isn't really a dev question, but its also not a 'user' question
either...
At USC, we've setup a large mirror. One of the many things we are
mirroring is openssh. I tried to contact miod at openbsd.org which I
believe I got from the website, but I got no response.
Anyway, the mirror is available through HTTP, FTP, and RSYNC:

OpenSSH 3.5p1 and BSM for Solaris
Can someone help me get BSM working with Solaris 8 and OpenSSH 3.5p1?
I saw the patch here for OpenSSH 3.4p1, but do not know how to apply it to OpenSSH 3.4p1 nor do I feel comfortable modifying to work with OpenSSH 3.5p1:
openssh-unix-dev at mindrot.org
Is this patch needed to fix the BSM crontab issue only, or is it required for BSM auditing in general?

OpenSSH, Solaris 8, and BSM works with BSM patch, but must disable privilege separation
To get BSM working on Solaris 8 with OpenSSH, I did this:
Download John R. Jackson's OpenSSH 3.5p1 BSM patch here, and save as "patch.tar.gz":
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125
(NOTE TO OpenSSH DEVELOPERS, can you incorporate this patch into the next version of OpenSSH?)

OpenSSH and BSM
All,
I've recently received a requirement to implement OpenSSH on a Solaris
server with BSM enabled. Checking through the list archive suggests that
the patch Darren's patch is almost ready but requires testing & perhaps
fine-tuning.
Can someone please let me know what the status is and if any assistance
is required with testing I'm happy to offer an extra pair of hands.
Thanks

Question/concern about bsm auditing option on solaris
Hello,
I downloaded and compiled the Mar 2, 2005 snapshot and compiled it with
bsm auditing for solaris turned on. I've been noticing about a dozen or
so of the following messages per day now. Not sure exactly what it is, or
if it is a big issue.
Mar 3 13:46:10 machine_name sshd[15298]: [ID 800047 auth.crit] fatal: mm_request_send: write
If it matters it is running on solaris 8

OpenSSH 3.5p1, Solaris 8, BSM, cron issue
We have started using BSM and have hit the BSM issue where cron is messed up if you SSH into a Solaris 8 box and try to issue a cron job.
I noticed the bug here:
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125
Is this patch applied to the OpenSSH 3.5p1 release?
I tried installing OpenSSH 3.5p1 and turned off Privileged Separation in the sshd_config file, but I am still getting the cron issues

[Semi-OT]: Mirroring openssh.org
I figure this probably isn't the most appropriate place for this
question, buuuuut, I can't seem to find the information I need on the
[http|ftp] site.
I'm responsible for a new Mirror site here at USC, and one of the many
things we would like to mirror is the OpenSSH software.
However, I can't seem to find the following information:

Help with Rmpi install
Hello R-help!
I am a systems administrator for the University of Southern California. I take care of it's general-purpose research cluster, and have recently been asked to provide access to a parallelized R platform. I do not have any previous experience using R, and have only ever had to do anything more then 'yum -y install R'.
We have a myrinet MPI network, and use mpich1 as our
