NX on 4.5 vs 5.0
NX connections to my 4.5 server give "cramped" looking fonts (as if the resolution were wrong). Connections to my 5.0 server look great regardless of the resolution. Both use GNOME. Is there anything I can do to the 4.5 servers to increase the quality of the NX connections? Thanks, Scott

Update on "non-dying" nx connections over unreliable network
Dear Sirs & Madams: Thank you so much for your help. To remind, my situation is a wireless connection that is unreliable, where: (a) upon disconnect, !M's nxclient does not recognize connection death (b) after I manually kill nxssh and reconnect, reconnection takes some time. My idea: intercept myself in between NX client and server - detect connection drop, and reconnect. This is

new freenx and nx RPMS released, manual action for x86_64
There are new RPMS released for nx and freenx in the CentOS-4 and CentOS-5 Extras repository. I normally do not announce that here, as those can easily be obtained on a normal "yum upgrade/update", however in this case there are special actions required *_IF_* you have the x86_64 architecture for either CentOS-4 or CentOS-5 with the current versions of nx and freenx installed. nx-bit and TPM
Hello, I'm was looking through handbook and wikipedia and it appears FreeBSD doesn't support hardware (nor software) nx bit. There also doesn't seem to be any support for TPM (Trusted Platform Module). I was wondering if it is due to a general lack of interest and/or personal preference (gcc?) or are there other issues. The reason I'm asking is I'm currently doing a MSc degree

Machine is SMP (hyperthreaded). PAE dom0 boots fine on CPU #0. PAE domU is bound to CPU #1 by default and boots to the login prompt as well, but only with NX disabled (and

NX problems with centos 4.4
Hi, using centos 4.4, and freenx-0.5.0-10.c4 and nx-1.5.0-1.centos4 on a 8 CPU Amd Opteron system. If I access this system by nxclient-1.5.0 from some workstation (FC6) with Gnome desktop, then after a successful login the X11 windows have no windowmanager frame, so a handling of the X11 windows is very difficult. This effect does not appear when acessing the centos system by xdm. Is this a

RE: Re: [Xen-changelog] Fix NX/XD enable on secondary CPUs.
Whether the processor is in 32 or 64-bit mode, if NX is used, then EFER_NX needs to be set. If NX isn''t used, then it''s a "Don''t care". I think bad things happens if you set the NX bit in the page table and don''t have EFER_NX set... -- Mats > -----Original Message----- > From: xen-devel-bounces@lists.xensource.com >

Cannot get LD_LIBRARY_PATH to work under NX (freenx)
Hello, I'm trying to get the LD_LIBRARY_PATH set from .bash_profile (Centos 5.3 fully updated). This is a part of my .bash_profile: export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/home/szyman/omnet/omnetpp-2.3p1/lib export R_HISTSIZE=2000000000 Everything works fine under standard ssh login, but under NX client the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable is missing (the R_HISTSIZE is exported properly). New freenx-0.6.0 and NX-2.1.0
All, I have put in the testing repository a new version of freenx-0.6.0 and nx-2.1.0 for both CentOS-4 and CentOS-5. This is using one set of SRPMS to build on either CentOS-4 or CentOS-5 RPMS. To get files from the testing repository, see: http://wiki.centos.org/Repositories Make sure you have the .el4 packages if testing on CentOS-4 or the .el5 packages if testing in CentOS-5. My name is Gert Jensen and I am a newbe to Samba. I have tried installing it a few time and have run into the same problem no matter how I try to get the management module to load. Can someone on the list give me instructions or send me to a site where there are explicit instructions on how to set up SWAP with the latest version of Sambe and Red Hat 7.3. When I try to access
