-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 The list server at shorewall.net is seeing a small but steady stream of quaranteened messages from anti-spam software that is asking the list server to respond and thus register itself as a legitimate source of email. Recent spam postings
Due to the large volume of spam on the list (and that stupid anti-spam spam - I can't believe how lame that is) I've blocked postings to the list that are only in text/html format. Multipart postings are still allowed although I wish they weren't. There have been problems with the mime filter breaking other people's mailers so that project is on hold for now. Tim.

Switching list to subscriber-post only?
Given the recent spam epidemic, I would like to hear people's opinion on switching this list to subscribed-post only (all non-subscribers would have their posts held for moderation.) -hpa

winbind: challenge/response password authentication failed
I'm using Redhat's 2.2.3a-6 standard install of Samba. I seem to have almost everything worked out (after much back and forth and fussing), but I can't log in using my domain users. Just using su or login fails, but using "wbinfo -a <domain>+<userid>%<passwd>" I get this suggestive error: plaintext password authentication succeeded challenge/response

OT - Fax and anti-spam
Hi, One of Asterisk features is fax2mail. As a good share of incoming faxes can be considered as advertising spam, does it make sense to use email anti-spam features to filter them ? I can't foresee any practical way to do so but I would be very curious to discuss about it. Regards -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

How do I test if the anti spam plugin is working?
I've configured the dspam anti spam plugin, but it doesn't appear to be doing anything when I move mail between mailboxes. Can anyone help me determine what's going on? The plugin appears to be loading; at least if I don't define all the required configuration options I get a complaint in the log file. But beyond that I don't see any activity. Here's the config: babel#

TMDA whitelisting anti-spam filter installed
Hello, I've installed the TDMA whitelist filter in front of majordomo on all mailing lists at Xiph.Org. I also repaired a few unrelated spam filter breaks. Posting from subscribed email addresses is unaffected. Any post to a mailing list from an unknown email list will require a confirmation message the first time posting from that mail address.
