WINS server looses election irregular in a heterogeneous network
Dear Samba-Users, I have to administer a Samba WINS Server in a heterogenous network. It's a student hostel with about 200 mixed (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X) computers. We have a DHCP, which delivers the WINS-Server address to the clients. I don't have access to the clients. The problem is, that the WINS-Server (Samba 3.0.27) looses the Master-Browser election irregulary. I can't

Dear openssh developers, Sorry to bother you with this, but I am stumped! ssh client version: OpenSSH_3.9p1 NCSA_GSSAPI_3.5 GSI, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004 sshd server version: OpenSSH_4.6p1-hpn12v17 NCSA_GSSAPI_GPT_4.0 GSI, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004 The client/server interaction hangs just at the very end, after authentication is complete. Cygwin sftp is very slow.
I tried to transfer a CD image (around 600Mb ) from a local network linux machine to a windows machine with the cygwin sftp. The transfer is very slow. It did not go beyond 15KB/s But I did transfer it just with ssh and it was pretty quick. ssh logu at 192.168.1.52 "cat sysrec.iso" > sysrec.iso What could be the problem. I have switched off Antivirus, firewall etc. The version of

mysteries of client_process_input()
I was trying to modify the way openssh client (3.9.1p) handles keyboard input (regular input, once the connection is made). I modified the client_process_input function, but it seems that it was never called. I confirmed this with gdb - setting a breakpoint on that function never tripped. Obviously, there must be some other function that openssh uses to read keyboard input, but I can't find

Noisy sound quality with Blackfin in WB-mode
Hello all, I'm testing the Speex codec for my diploma thesis on a BF-533 Blackfin under uCLinux (2005R3 RC3 release). I successfully compiled the Speex (1.1.11-svn) and I can encode/decode wav-files on my STAMP-board using the speexenc/speexdec sample apps. But I encountered that the decoded file sounds strange/noisy, when compiling with "--enable-blackfin-asm" +

Noisy sound quality with Blackfin in WB-mode
Hi Bernhard, Can you confirm I'm understanding everything correctly? You encode with the same encoder and then decode with either A) blackfin assembly and fixed-point or B) fixed-point only on Blackfin. Then A) sounds bad and B) sounds good. If you do the same in narrowband, it sounds OK. Is that correct? If that's the case, it's *probably* some kind of bug and/or invalid assumption

Problems using gssapi authentication from FreeBSD to Linux machines
Hi all, I'm really struggling with getting Kerberos authentication to work between a FreeBSD host and a Linux host. I'm using the latest 6- STABLE code on the FreeBSD box, I've got forwardable Kerberos tokens (verified with "klist -f") and Kerberos and ssh are working fine in all other ways, but I can't get the Linux box to accept the Kerberos ticket as

Only one chance to enter a new password?
Hello there, We are using OpenSSH_3.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004 on various Solaris boxes with PAM and an LDAP server back end. Recently we have added a requirement for users to have complex passwords. The problem is, if a user's password has expired, when they log in they are prompted for a new password (good) but if they enter a non-complex new password the session is closed rather than

Openwindows run on remote machine on OpenSSH_3.9p1 solaris 5.8
Hi, I've had some strange recent behaviour from ssh (OpenSSH_3.9p1 Solaris 5.8). I have an application that runs a script that run a remote command over ssh, however rather than running the command ssh tried to run openwindows (an xsession app, i think). Every time the application ran the command the same issue would occur, until the application was restarted. The command it should have been

Problems with RhostRSAAuthecntication and UsePrivilegeSeparation (RH9, 2.4.20-42.9.legacybigmem)
Hi, for some days now I am/was fighting with an annoying problem. I have to support an environment where RhostRSAAuthecntication via /etc/ssh/sshd_known_hosts is used for password-less login. This works fine with RH7.3 (and RH8) and openssh versions openssh-3.1p1-3 (and openssh-3.4p1-2). Our customer has now requested an upgrade to RH9. That comes with openssh-3.5p-11 and the password-less

Issue with Wx::Image class, especially set_data
Hello Hopefully some developer will see this too. I''ve problems using set_data method for example with wxruby 1.9.7/ruby 1.8.6 on mswin32. It always crashes: ..../classes/bitmap.rb:17: [BUG] segmentation fault On my Linux it works fine (thats no suprise of course). Probably somebody has a clue - I exported this raw data also with get_data, I guess this should be platform independent
