LDAP functionable? ldap.c does not compile on Solaris 2.6 /SWAT bug?
Hi,
Is there anybody who succesfully compiled 2.0.4b INCLUDING LDAP support
"--with-ldap"? And on Solaris 2.6 (2.x)?
I first had configure run with also the NISPLUS option, but didn't want
that after all. I had a lot of problems trying to get Samba accepting
connections anyway.
That compiled oke: there's a little bug? in the SAMBA source somewhere
however, because I always get

Cannot mount with newer samba
At my nt-server, the c-drive was overfilled. After that I could not mount it
from redhat7.3 samba 2.2.3. The following was said.
tdb((null)): tdb_open_ex: could not open file
/var/cache/samba/unexpected.tdb: No such file or directory

I tried opgrading to samba 2.2.5, and I have also opgraded to redhat8.0. Now

smbtar problem
I was using smbtar to test backing up an NT server, everything works fine
except that for quite a lot of the files it has an error downloading
them(probably 2/3 of them actually). All it says is :
Error reading file \dir\dir\file. Got 0 bytes
Didn't get entire file. size=533, nread=0
I could see this happening if the file were opened exclusively such as the
paging file, but to my knowledge

Printing to samba server doesn't work
Well, not like it should. I can capture a printer with the "net use
lpt1:" command, but I would really like to be able to print to any one
of the three printers in my printcap.
NT gives me the error: "The parameter is incorrect". I attached the
error message screen below, in .png format.
This worked for the last printer I had. All I changed was the printer

x11 forwarding problem on solaris
Hi!
I am having problems using openssh-3.8.1p1 on sparc-sun-solaris2.8 to
connect to another sparc-solaris or x86-linux machine with X11
forwarding enabled.
After connecting tot the remote box if I start emacs, type a few
characters and then try to select the text with the mouse emacs
crashes. This reproduces reliably on a number of solaris/linux machines.
Here is the output of ssh -v

Thanks for your response. The platform is lynxos. However when I add --with-ldflags=-lcrypt
I get the following error:

Issue while Running SSH from a Windows Service
Hi All -
It seems to be an odd scenario. I have a simple ssh command which
establishes connection with a UNIX machine and executes some commands
over there. When I ran the command from command window, I was able to
successfully run them. In reality I wanted the ssh command to be invoked
by a windows 2003 service. I tried to debug the ssh command while
running from a service and I get the below

openssh-3.8p1 doesn't compile under Cygwin
Hello,
I've just downloaded openssh-3.8p1 and tried to compile it under
Cygwin (that is up to date), but this didn't work...
i juste tried :
./configure
make
the configure seems to work but the make stopped because of an error
compiling some files in the openbsd-compat folder (see the attachments
for logs).
I have the last Zlib version and OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004.
I also tried

What do the server logs say? Does the server have PAM enabled?

[fdo] Ssh service interruption of freedesktop.org
Hi admins, thank you for maintaining useful development
resources. But I'm in trouble. Please help.
I and some developers are unable to use ssh login over 24 hours.
Is there a intended service interruption? Or some problems are
lying?
I and some developers could slogin to freedesktop.org before the
problem had occurred. My local environment has not altered in
recent days.
