different PAM/ssh server-session sequences for root and regular users?
Hi
I just noticed different sequences of PAM/ssh-session calls.
(env: OpenSSH 3.8p1 on Linux with PAM-0.75)
The channel 0 (server-session) seems to be startet very early for root
and and after the pam-session is started for regular users.
As a result, regular users don't have a tty when the pam-session modules
are called.
Is this intended?

SSH login between servers still asking for password, why?
I have two servers identified as `server-1 - 192.168.3.128` and `server-2 -
192.168.3.130`. I am setting up `capifony` for automatic deployment from
server-1 to server-2 and this is what I have done so far:
1. In both servers I have created a user `deploy` without password since
that's the user I will use for deployment.
2. In server-1 I setup a SSH keys by running the command:

Ordering of key offers with "ssh -i"
Hi
Is it expected behaviour that when using "ssh -i", the key specified in the
"-i" option is only sent to the server *after* trying all other keys in ~/.ssh
? I couldn't find anything about this in the manual, and it seems like
surprising behaviour to me. It can be the cause of unexpected failures in some
cases, if a server has MaxAuthTries set to a value which is

3.8p1 password expiry, Solaris 8
I can't seem to get the /etc/shadow password expiry working on
3.8p1 on Solaris 8. It works fine with 3.7.1p2 and pwexp26.
Logins aren't affected after a 'passwd -df' or 'passwd -f'.
Here's the configure, using gcc 3.2:
--prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc/ssh --with-tcp-wrappers \
--without-pam --libexecdir=/usr/sbin --mandir=/usr/share/man \
--with-shadow

ssh -2 and hostbasedauth
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how to read OpenSSH's log files (to assist
our people in diagnosing "why is it always asking me for passwords").
All clients and servers are 3.0p1.
First: server does not have the client's RSA2 key in known_host.

Problem and Patch: Multiple keys in ssh.com V2 agent
Hello!
I recently discoverd a problem with ssh.com's ssh-agent2 and OpenSSH:
If I have more than one key in my agent, then the agent tries to
authenticicate me with every one of them at the OpenSSH server; but none
of them is a valid key for that server. The Problem is that the Server
increments the authctxt->attempt at every of that tries. So even if you
want to login with a password at
