[LLVMdev] RFC: Missing canonicalization in LLVM
So this change did indeed have an effect! :) I’m seeing regressions in a number of benchmarks mainly due to a host of extra bitcasts that get introduced. Here’s the problem I’m seeing in a nutshell: 1) There is a Phi with input type double 2) Polly demotes the phi into a load/store of type double 3) InstCombine canonicalizes the load/store to use i64 instead of double 4)

[LLVMdev] RFC: Missing canonicalization in LLVM
Thanks for the reply Pete. Unfortunately, I don’t think it is going to be as simple as ignoring those loads which only store. In findCommonType(), only one alloca is passed in at a time. So, while you could find those cases where that alloca was loaded from and stored elsewhere, you can’t find those places that store to that alloca from somewhere else (at least not easily that I can see). So

HPUX and privsep
Subject: HPUX and privsep Anyone solved or see the same connection I do with these two issues on HPUX if Privilege Separation is turned off ? Logname not found (3.7.1p2, 3.8.1p1) Login prematurely quits during session setup (mm_send_fd: sendmsg(3): Bad file number | mm_receive_fd: recvmsg: expected received 1 got 0) (3.8.1p1) Seems the mm_xxxx_() functions arent called when PrivSep is off.

Privilege separation and linux kernel 2.0.x: mm_receive_fd fails
FWIW, after patching the mmap issue, openssh still doesn't work on linux kernel 2.0.39 (+ patches): sshd[22202]: fatal: mm_receive_fd: expected type 1 got 2355841 I didn't dig deeper into it yet, but I believe 2.0 kernel does not support the kind of recvmsg() use privsep expects. -- v -- v at iki.fi

Problem with openssh on linux 2.0.34 mips
Hi I tried to compile openssh 3.3p1 on a linux 2.0.34 mips system. First I was not able to compile it at all, but then I added the following line to monitor_fdpass.c #define SCM_RIGHTS 0x01 Then it compiled fine, but I am not able to log in. After having entered the password I get the following message in the logfile: Jun 25 20:25:46 raq2 sshd[16129]: fatal: mm_receive_fd: expected type 1 got

Patrick From: Kev Buckley <k.buckley@lancaster.ac.uk> Trying to install R-1.1.1 on Solaris RCC for you. Looks as though I meant to before, as I had a TGZ of the previous release lying around.

Multilevel models with binary data
I have been using lme to model data with multiple nested random effects and continuous response variables however I also have data with a binary response variable, binomial errors and multiple levels of nesting of random effects (e.g. site/block/quadrat/year), is there a package available which will do this? Jim Lindsey's package "repeated" appears to be only able to cope with 2

Install with 64-bit GCC 3.2 : FIX (PR#2049)
I was able to get it all to compile by altering the src_dir/etc/Makeconf file so that the shared lib LD flags variables contain -m64 SHLIB_CXXLDFLAGS = -G -m64 SHLIB_LDFLAGS = -G -m64 these only had "-G" by default. Dunno why they dont pick them up as part of the standard configure though - one for you I guess ! -- Regards,

OpenSSH 5.1: call for testing
Hi, OpenSSH 5.1 is almost ready for release, so we would appreciate testing on as many platforms and systems as possible. This release is one of the biggest in recent years, with two hackathons' worth of improvements and fixes for some of our most recalcitrant bugs. Snapshot releases for portable OpenSSH are available from http://www.mindrot.org/openssh_snap/ The OpenBSD version is

[PATCH 1/12] bug fix: openssh-4.3p2 memory leak
The variable cmd is xmalloc'd by buffer_get_string. It is then used in some places but never freed. This patch places the xfree after the last usage and within the confines of all paths. This entire set of patches passed the regression tests on my system. Memory leak bug found by Coverity. Signed-off-by: Kylene Hall <kjhall at us.ibm.com> --- clientloop.c | 2 ++ 1 files changed,

Question regarding alignment patch
Contrast http://cvsweb.mindrot.org/index.cgi/openssh/monitor_fdpass.c?r1=1.23;r2=1.24 with http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/usr.bin/ssh/monitor_fdpass.c.diff?r1=1.14&r2=1.15 The original replaces cmsgbuf.tmp with cmsgbuf.buf, while the -portable version *adds* cmsgbuf.buf but retains cmsgbuf.tmp. I assume this was an oversight, and cmsgbuf.tmp should be removed? DES -- Dag-Erling
