After installing 2.9.0 I tried loading packages, but keep getting the following error.
package 'robustbase' successfully unpacked and MD5 sums checked
Error in normalizePath(path) :
path[1]="C:\Program Files\R\R-2.9.0\library/robustbase": The system cannot find the file specified
I've tried loading various packages with the same result.
Thanks for any help.

Various extensions ring once and go to voicemail
Duncan:
You may have it right-I took one phone and set the ring time to 60 seconds. I now get about 4 rings on that one.
I wonder how I can change the timing source.

Asterisk 1.8.7.0 connectivity to Avaya SM
Thanks for the reply John.
About 85-90% of what this box has to do is just handle calls, but it also has options to transfer calls to the main phone system, which up to now has been another asterisk box. For example, you can hit 6 to be transferred to the Lost & Found Department.
I do have allowguest set to “yes” already, but of course I also have type=peer and the other stuff for a sip

Compilation warning on 2.2.7a
It seems pretty typical that compilation warnings can be essentially ignored.
Be that as it may, if I can't find evidence that a warning can be ignored in
the archives, I am compelled to ask about it. A nod that these are OK or a
fix for them if they are not OK would be appreciated.
I am getting several warnings with winbind_nss.c :

Various extensions ring once and go to voicemail
We have an old Asterisk 1.8.7.0 system desperately need to keep alive for another 6 months or so. We had all kinds of hardware problems, so we virtualized it.
Now, random extensions ring once and go straight to voicemail.
I went to one of the affected extensions and changed the ring time from the default (20) to 26. Still one ring. I changed it to 30. Now I get two rings. Other extensions ring

I DON'T HAVE the res_timing_timerfd.so file. Can I build it? Recompiling Asterisk is unrealistic in my position but I wonder if I can build the one module. Here's what I do have:

/usr/src/asterisk-1.8.23.1/res/.res_timing_timerfd.makeopts

Wanted: free DID number and provider feedback
Ok, I see there's alot out there of voip providers.
Curious what to watch out for ? charges and fee's, etc ?
If anyone has feedback as to a GOOD voip provider experience (one that
gave FREE DID) Please share.
Again, I am doing this to learn about asterisk, I'm currently testing
it at home.
thanks,

winbind: group name doesn't map to a SID, but gid does
I'm using winbind v3.0.22 on Debian Linux as a source for nss info.
I have a group that was once known by winbind, but is no more:
------ beging shell except ------
# ls -ld ./
drwxrws--- 10 root $MND000-TT227MV5K24I 4096 2006-05-10 15:41 ./

------ end shell except ------
It must have been known, as I was the one who chgrp'ed the dir
originally.
I know what the group name is

ISDN BRI termination via Cisco?
Greetings -
We've a pair of ISDN BRI that we use for dialtone, fairly happily except
for the recent meltdown of one of our Netgear RT338's. We're in the
middle of slowly migrating to a VoIP/Asterisk-on-FreeBSD based phone
system. I had originally considered just buying a Digium TDM400 card
and continuing to use the RT338's to bring out POTS lines from the BRI's,

g77 FFLAGS?
I'm trying to compile R under Mac OS X using gcc/g77 2.95.2. There is
an interesting blurb in install:
You must set whatever compilation flags (if any) are needed to ensure
that FORTRAN `integer' is equivalent to a C int pointer and FORTRAN
`double precision' is equivalent to a C double pointer. This is checked
during the configuration process.
I'm not an avid FORTRAN user.

winbind can see some groups but not others
Hello,
I followed the steps at
http://www.enterprisenetworkingplanet.com/netos/article.php/3487081
for adding a v3.0.21a samba and winbindd server to a MsAD domain and
configuring nsswitch.conf to find passwd and group info from winbind.
This seems to have worked out fine, except that I can't 'see' or
'recognize' certain groups via getent or via wbinfo -g.
E.g. I can see the
