resolve on solaris 9 with snapshot 12/03
I have recently begun using OpenSSH portable for solaris and grabbed the latest snapshot. I noticed that my logs do not contain the hostname..only the IP of the connecting machine. Is this a know (or expected) issue and/or is there a work-around? Thanks in advance. -- J.D. Bronson - "The Cisco Kid" Aurora Health Care // Information Services // Milwaukee, WI USA Office:

What happens to manuals.rubyonrails.com?
Hi guys, does anyone know what happened to the manuals site? I have not been able to connect to http://manuals.rubyonrails.com for two days (I started reading all about RoR yesterday and finished most of the tutorials i could gather, and really enjoyed playing with the rails). Dragging a copy of an image and then reverting
I''d like to drag images onto drop zones. I have a working demo with one problem: the image leaves the dock and then "snaps back" to it: (broken -- image leaves dock during drag then snaps back) http://u32.net/junq/imlib-demo-1/ I can get the image to remain in the dock during the drag using ''ghosting:true''. But how do I keep the original in the dock

"X11Forwarding yes" causes "error: socket: Protocol not supported"
Greetings, I'm running OpenSSH_2.5.2p2, and OpenSSL-0.9.6a, on BSD/OS 4.0. Following the FAQ, I added the following line to my sshd_config in order to enable X11 forwarding: X11Forwarding yes Now openssh is disconnecting my sessions immediately after authentication and login with the following error messages: "error: socket: Protocol not supported" "Disconnecting: Command

Rather sticky migrate problem
Here''s the problem... Typo has ~35 migrate scripts. Script 3 makes a minor schema change, then migrates data to the new schema. For instance: add_column :articles, :user_id, :integer Article.find(:all).each do |a| a.user=User.find_by_name(a.author) a.save end This makes sense... except that a revision 35 model has been instantiated on a revision 3 schema!

openssh 2.5.2p2/Solaris 5.8 problems
openssh 2.5.2p2 on Solaris 8 has PAM/cron problems. If I build it with PAM then cron quits working giving "cron audit problem." errors. If I turn PAM off then cron works but I get kicked out of any session where a password is needed (i.e. no .rhosts/.shosts or not using ssh-agent) with the message "Connection closed by IP#". I get through if I have a .rhosts/.shosts or use

Support for here documents with sftp client in OpenSSH 2.5.1p 1-1 (RH Linux 6.2 [2.2.x kernel])
Damien, I was going down the path of public key authentication when I encountered problems. I've been discussing it off-line using the simple example of creating a key pair with no passphrase for an account on "myserver", then trying to connect to myserver using the "ssh -i id_dsa myserver" command. It's not working, so we're debugging now (see below). If you

Hanging ssh
OK, with openssh-SNAP-20001218 I still have the problem of a hanging ssh when running (one specific) command on a server. On the server side, there's a small suid C prog (/usr/dh/mgmt/HupServer) that runs system "/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl stop/start". Incidentally, apachectl is a shell script, hence the need for a suid wrapper for non-root users... On the client side,

snapshot sftpserver
I'm having some problems with the sftpserver from yesterdays snapshot. It's working fine on the machine I built it on, but the (supposedly) identical machines I rdisted it to fails (SGI O2, Irix 6.5.11m). The client says: % sftp buskfuru Connecting to buskfuru... Enter passphrase for key '/usr/people/jfm/.ssh/id_dsa': janfrode at buskfuru's password: Received message too

2.5.1p1 Could not load host key
OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 was compiled on two different Linux machines, both with glibc 2.2, libz-1.1.3 and openssl-0.9.6. Both had been running 2.3.0p1 successfully. Packet integrity error. (34)
Hi, I am using Van Dyke SecureCRT 3.2.1 to access an AIX server running OpenSSH-2.5.0p1. Using ssh1 with X11 forwarding enabled, the server reports the following error (in the client session): Packet integrity error. (34) This problem was not evident in 2.3.0p1. Running sshd in debug gives the output: debug1: sshd version OpenSSH_2.5.1p1 debug1: load_private_key_autodetect: type 0 RSA1

Can't mount share DFS fron AD on a Linux Box.
Hello, I've got an Ubuntu Workstation integrated in an Active Directory domain. I'm really authenticated to the domain (with Kerberos clients, Winbind and Samba) and I can list the users of the domain with the wbinfo command. There's a DFS root share that is defined on each DC of the AD domain. When I try to mount that share with the mount.smbfs command : # mount -t smbfs

I've seen many posts on this subject and several days researching but have not understood much of what I'm reading. In over my head. Any help appreciated. Here are facts.... 1. I set up the samba on linux box. 2. connected two windows 98SE machines 3. All machines connect to router 198.168.0.1, and use DHCP 4. I set up a public directory on Linux box 5. I can browse with
