Bugs in openssh
Hi, We are using your product openssh 2.3.0p1 and we should upgrade to openssh 3.7.1p1 mainly for better SSH2 support but also for the bug reported on <http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/333628> Is this problem located on the server side or on the client side, or both? LocalCommand problem for tunneling on Linux
I've been testing tunneling on Linux with openssh-SNAP-20060116.tar.gz and found a problem. When I use LocalCommand for doing ifconfig stuff, the command line was executed before a tunneling interface is opened. This causes errors on Linux and the interface is not automatically set up. This is not a problem on *BSD because you can do ifconfig for unopened tun/tap interfaces. But in Linux,

maximum amount of lines of code to be copy pasted to R console
Dear list members, is there any maximum amount of lines of code that can be copy pasted into the R console? Or some maximum amount of levels of nested parantheses? Whenever I copy paste some big chunk of code into the R console I get errors of missing parantheses etc. even though the parantheses are balanced (i.e. the code runs when run via source or inside some function). Cheers Jannis

Where does the "prompt come from"
Hi All ! I have a little question about the shell that is run when establishing a connection towards an SSH server. The client(OpenSSH) displays a prompt(as usual) when a command is executed, but my question is, where does the prompt come from. Is it sent by the remote shell or is it handled in the client ?? The reason I ask is that we have developed a product that redirects stdin/stdout/stderr

Parantheses highlighting
Dear list, is it just me or is everybody experiencing this? Since the upgrade to R 2.13.0 on my Mac (OS X 10.6.7, R GUI 1.40 (5751)) the highlighting of matching parantheses doesn't work the way it used to. It doesn't highlight the matching parantheses while typing, but it still does while scrolling over it with the cursor with the arrow keys. This is quite inconvenient since I have to go

square brackets in expression in plots
Dears, do you know whether it is possible to include any square parantheses (brackets) in an expression to use it as an axis label? e.g. I would like to have a label like (with the sub and superscripts correct): "speed [m s^-1]" I know how to combine an expression with text via paste, but as I run soimething like: a='m*s^{-1}' plot(1:10,main=parse(text=a)) I found now way

[LLVMdev] Documentation of bitcasts in calls
Dear all, I just stumbled over the following instruction in the LLVM IR of a C program compiled with clang: %26 = call i32 (...)* bitcast (i32 (i32, i32, i32, i32, i32)* @KeWaitForSingleObject to i32 (...)*)(i32 %23, i32 %24, i32 %25, i32 0, i32 0) Since our LLVM Parser choked on this instruction, I tried to check the documentation, but did not find anything about such nested bitcasts within

installation of RODBC
I have tried to install the RODBC package with the next command: > install.packages(("ORDBC"), (lib="usr/lib/R/library")) But it is failed. Can I get some information about the installation of this package anywhere? Using grep
Hi, I have a vector A with (200, 201, 202, 203, 204, ... 210) and a vector B with (201, 204, 209). Now I would like to get the position in vector A matches with the entries in vector B So what I want to have is the following result: [1] 2 5 10 I tried the following: grep(B, A) grep(c(B), A) A <- as.character(A) B <- as.character(B) grep(B, A) grep(c(B), A) and several other

Format regression result summary
Hello to the whole group. I am a newbie to R, but I got my way through and think it is a lot easier to handle than other software packages (far less clicks necessary). However, I have a problem with respect to the summary of regression results. The summary function gives sth like: Residuals: Min 1Q Median 3Q Max -0.46743 -0.09772 0.01810 0.11175 0.42252

Error message when using error.bars(x,add=TRUE)
Hey hey, I`m analyzing a data set containing the element contentrations of various samples... I wanted to construct notched boxplots and got quite ugly results for some of the boxplots. The notches are often larger then the hinges which resulted in weird looking edges (even though I`m using a log-boxplot). To avoid this problem I thought about using "normal" log-boxplots and adding some

Integrating speex with VideoNet application: Constantbackground noise
Hi Jean-Marc, Thanks. I've got the code for sampleenc and sampledec. But I didn't know how to verify whether the decoded file is correct. So I tried to analyse the decoded output and compile with my input. Test case: PCM samples, 8 bit, 8000 samples per sec. When I pulled all my input to 0s, after encode and decode, the output fluctuates around -0.12 to 0.2 (in float), so when finally

Integrating speex with VideoNet application: Constantbackground noise
Hi John, I noticed the values after decode is very much different from the values of the original PCM samples. For cases when the PCM sample values are constant (because no one is speaking), the decoded values fluctuate too. These fluatuations are causing the background noise. Is my observation expected? Integrating speex with VideoNet application: Constantbackground noise
Hi, I'm still unable to get rid of the background noise though I've changed the PCM samples to 16 bit. I'm began to wonder if I can just take the PCM samples and encode them. What my application tries to do is to record the voice from a microphone, encode it, send it via the socket to a peer, decode at the peer's side and play the voice. My application works fine without the

Integrating speex with VideoNet application: Constantbackground noise
Hi John, Thanks for your reply. Yes, my output device is in 8-bit mode, same as my input mode. I'm actually working in char (8 bit) arrays. Is it necessary to work in signed short integers only? I changed all the short arrays in the example to char. Carine ----- Original Message ---- From: John Miles <jmiles@pop.net> To: carineliang@yahoo.com.sg; speex-dev@xiph.org Sent: Thursday,

Integrating speex with VideoNet application: Constantbackground noise
Hi, I've changed the m_waveFormatEx.wBitsPerSample for both record buffer and playSound buffer, changed my array from char to short and I'm still getting the same constant background noise. I notice that when I talk into the mike, I will get a slightly louder noise, can't hear any clear speech... Any idea what's wrong? Regards, Carine ----- Original Message ---- From: John Miles

An lgrind definition for the S language
I seem to recall discussion of an language definition file for S for use with the lgrind utility but I can't find any trace of it in an R Site Search. The lgrind utility takes a file of code in a particular programming language and prepares it for "pretty printing" in LaTeX. In my version the available language definitions are $ lgrind -s When specifying a language case is
