No interest in partial auth?
Hi,
I don't mean to be annoying, but it seems like there isn't any interest in
partial authentication. Is this true? It's not a future plan for OpenSSH
to have this feature?
I'd just like to know if I'm on my own or not.
Thanks
Erik.

forwarding
Greetings All.
I wonder if it's possible to implement unix-domain-socket forwarding in
opnessh. It might very useful since "namespace" for unix sockets is
much bigger than for tcp ports and it would be easier to avoid any
"name" clashes. In fact such implementation already exists as agent
forwarding so what is my wish is to be able to specify local and remote
socket name

Question: anyone seeing excessive lost characters on SYSLINUX over serial port?
Hi all,
I have a user who is reporting excessive amounts of lost characters when
using SYSLINUX (PXELINUX actually) over a serial port at 38400 bps.
What is somewhat bizarre is that he has a very high quality server with
a Cyclades board, and yet he's losing characters in the PXELINUX->server
direction. Has anyone else seen this?
Thanks,

Excess Bandwidth
Hi,
I''m trying to configure QoS on my linux in the following manner:
I have a main link with 64K, so I divided it in 3 classes of 18K, 14K
and 9K with an excess (not used for classified traffic, just to be
shared) of 23K. This excess should be distributed proportonally among
the 3 classes, that is, the class that has more rate should borrow more
bandwidth. What is happening is

s/key with PasswordAuthentication
HI!
Is it possibly to use s/key with PasswordAuthentication at the same
time?
I mean that when You enter right s/key password You have to enter right
shadow
password to logon.

centos on 64M 350Mhz pentimum II
All,
I have an old computer 64M 350Mhz pentium II.
centos os 4.1 installs on it fine. however on boot
it says low memory and it kills certain processes. httpd or sendmail.
I have a 2GIG swap and I did a chkconfig XXX off on a few things
like xfs, nfs, httpd, kudzu.
My old 2.4 kernel used to run in 4M with a swap...
I had recompiled the kernel (took a while) to enable the cyclades module.

CentOS serial questions (Hyperterminal equiv and connecting to server via Hyperterminal)
I have two serial-related questions
(1) What is the CentOS (or *nix) equivalent of Hyperterminal in Windows?
Sometimes I'm on a CentOS box and need to, say, console into a Cisco or
something.
and
(2) I have a CentOS server that I may need to transport somewhere and will
most likely *not* want to carry around the monitor. Where should I look in

ChallengeResponseAuthentication defaults to no?
Hello,
I have just installed OpenSSH 4.6p1 and it appears that ChallengeResponseAuthentication is not allowed unless I explicitly set it to "yes" in the sshd_config file. I am using the same config file as I did with 4.5p1 where it was allowed by default. Also, this is OpenSSH package from sunfreeware, but I believe that both versions were compiled with the same options.
Is this the

denial of service attack on login
Hi,
I''ve been writing a login application to utilize the features of both PAM
and libpwdb. Not surprisingly, this has meant looking at some old code..
The following denial of service attack seems to work quite nicely on my
ancient Red Hat 3.0.3 system with the standard login application. Perhaps
this is not a problem with 4.0? Does anyone know about other distributions?

Asterisk server with remote monitoring capabilities
Hello, all.
I'm tired of having to drive out to the colocation
facility each time my dedicated asterisk server craps
out, just to press the button to do a hard reboot.
(I'm running 1.05 stable at present, no telephony
hardware, as this is mainly a system that receives
calls, no dial-out ability is needed.)
I've been looking at the fancy xeon-based systems

Unpredictables Hangups
Hello all,
i'm experiencing a list of unpredictables hangup on SIP phones using a PRI
E100P Card.
All i can see in logs is
" WARNING[81931]: File chan_zap.c, Line 5402 (zt_pri_error): PRI: Read on 37
failed: Unknown error 500"
I receive a lot of these errors in asterisk/messages.
It doesn't seem to be strictly linked to hangups, since i have dozen of

I'm trying to compile openSSH-3.4p1 with the SecureID patch taken from:
http://www.omniti.com/~jesus/projects/openssh-3.4p1+SecurID_v1.patch
I'm having trouble to compile the patched openSSH over the Cygwin platform.
this is probably since there is no cygwin SecureID agent available , so i'm

The Smallest Asterisk Server Ever?
Hello all,
Saturday night, after a couple of shots of bourbon, I realized
that I had an old PC sitting in the garage that I could use as an Asterisk
gateway if I just blew the dust off it and reloaded it with a modern Linux
distribution. In my characteristically impulsive manner, I grabbed it and
started cleaning it up so that I could put it in my office without my wife
having a fit.

[beldridg@best.com: Re: [fw-wiz] SecureID vs Certificates]
Hmmm...
You guys aware of this project to incorporate Smart Cards into
ssh-agent? I remember hearing about some stuff for OpenSSL, but I don't
recall hearing about this on the OpenSSH list or on the Muscle list.
This would be a really nice thing... :-)
