Compiling issues in HPUX 11.11 for 3.7.1
The openssh-unix-dev list is the correct place for questions about OpenSSH Portable. chi-leung.wong at nokia.com wrote: > > Hi, > > Sorry to send you this issue but I haven't been able to find > this issue anywhere on the net and we have tried to compile on a few > HPUX 11.11 systems ending up with the same situation. greater than 8 character passwords on Unixware (IA database support)
I made some quick changes to support the IA security thing in Uniware 7.1.1. I wish I understood all of this well enough to make a proper patch to include new defines and what not. I tried and made a mess. Hopefully I can get a better grasp this weekend. The only files I changed were xcrypt.c and Makefile. Makefile needed -lcrypt and -liaf added to LIBS=. It had -lcrypto but needed -lcrypt for

greater than 8 character passwords on SCO OSR6
I read the exchange regarding > 8 char passwords on Unixware from the end of June. Is anything being done to add support for >8 character passwords on SCO OSR6 (in udk mode)? I have it working by calling osr5bigcrypt(), instead of bigcrypt(), in openbsd-compat/xcrypt.c and linking with -lcrypt. libcrypt has bigcrypt(), but for whatever reason, openssh built with it fails to authenticate

Build Errors, torture tests 3.0.x/HP-UX 11i
I get the following errors when building the torture suite under HP-UX 11i with HP AnsiC. They are actually somewhat similar to the errors that I get trying to build the whole package with gcc: Compiling torture/torture.c In file included from include/includes.h:109, from torture/torture.c:23: /usr/include/sys/socket.h:484: error: parse error before "sendfile"

Bad hangup event cause
Hello, i have a problem with the hangup cause received from the AMI in the Hangup events. All calls that arent answered after ringing are returning hangup cause 16 (normal clearing) instead 19. Im running asterisk 1.4.11, the calls are generated to a SIP peer using the AMI originate command. This is the 'sip debug' output: Reliably Transmitting (no NAT) to 192.168.0.70:5060: INVITE sip:1

Variable declarations in xcrypt.c
Hi All. I noticed that xcrypt.c now has some variable declarations after code within a block (for some sets of #ifdef's). Won't that choke some compilers? Should it do something like the attached? -- Darren Tucker (dtucker at zip.com.au) GPG key 8FF4FA69 / D9A3 86E9 7EEE AF4B B2D4 37C9 C982 80C7 8FF4 FA69 Good judgement comes with experience. Bigcrypt password patch
Hi, we are currently in the progress of switching an HPUX mailserver to linux and dovecot. The only issue so far is, that HPUX has bigcrypt for passwords > 8 chars. Bigcrypt uses standard libc crypt for every block of 8 chars. The linux pam modules have a bigcrypt.c file which can be used for dovecot as well to authenticate crypt and bigcrypt passwords. I have used the pam bigcrypt.c code

NFS issue
I am currently running K12LTSP on Centos 5, which is working well but without sound on most machines(ok all). So in order to remedy this and the cd-burning issue I have decided to try to install CentOS locally on one machine and then apply the personalizations via NFS. Steps: I editted the /etc/exports to export the /home dir as per the NFS howto and that seemed to work as the user homes were

Building for CygWin without OpenSSL fails
Ok, I think I've figured that out. I used 6.7 stable and it was wrong. Now I took 6.8 from master and configure --without-openssl went fine. But now when make I see ... openbsd-compat//libopenbsd-compat.a(xcrypt.o): In function `xcrypt': /cygdrive/c/openssh-portable-master/openbsd-compat/xcrypt.c:83: undefined reference to `crypt'

Building on cygwin: xcrypt error
Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated. I'm trying to build OpenSSH with a stable snapshot of Openssl 1.0.0, within cygwin. After much effort, the configure process (./configure --with-tcp-wrappers --with-ssl-dir=myssldir) went fine, though I was not able to successfully build due to an error: gcc -o sshd.exe sshd.o auth-rhosts.o auth-passwd.o auth-rsa.o auth-rh-rsa.o sshp ty.o

OpenSSH 3.8.1p1: call for testing
Hello All. Portable OpenSSH version 3.8.1p1 nearing release. This is primarily a bug fix release and we're asking for interested parties to try a snapshot [1]. A reminder: we rely on community feedback to find out about problems, particularly as there are many platforms any configurations that we don't have access to and can't test. In most cases, running the built-in tests is

Hi - I'm getting timouts trying to access us1.samba.org or I'd look through the archives first. Anyone currently supporting any versions of Rational's ClearCase/samba/UNIX/NT? SCO OpenServer password issue
If SCO OpenServer is configured for large passwords, i.e. u_pwseg is greater than 1 in /etc/auth/system/default, then user authentication in auth-passwd.c will fail for users whose passwords are longer than 8 characters. The "traditional" level of security installs with u_pwseg#1, so most users would never encounter this problem. This has been an issue in openssh since I started using
