Anti-idle in OpenSSH client?
Heya, Most of the windows ssh clients (putty, securecrt) have anti-idle features. They offer either a null packet or protocol no-op or user defined string to be sent over every x seconds. Is this possible or planned with the OpenSSH client? Our draconian firewall admins have started timing out ssh sessions. Yes I'm aware I could hack up a port forwarding dumb traffic process, but was

OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3, several weird terminal problems
I compiled OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3 (or at least "uname -a"'s output of 4.0.3.0 suggests v4.3, I'm not positive). I was able to compile zlib (1.1.4) and openssl (0.9.7a) with little trouble. OpenSSH took hand-hacking the includes.h file as follows: diff -cr openssh-3.6.1p1/includes.h openssh-3.6.1p1-customized/includes.h *** openssh-3.6.1p1/includes.h Sun Oct 20

SecureCRT, OpenSSH, and keys
Hello all. I have been searching the web for a formula to get openssh and securecrt ssh2 keys working properly. Does anyone have a set of directions? I have attempted creating keys in securecrt and converting them (ssh-keygen) to OpenSSH keys. I have attempted using OpenSSH's keys, but nothing seems to take. Any advice will help. Thank you. Need help with GSSAPI authentication
Client: Windows XP pro, in an AD 2003 domain, running SecureCRT 4.1.11. I've also got MIT Kerberos for Windows installed on the client, and Leash shows that my tickets ARE forwardable. Server: Solaris 8 Sparc server, with MIT Kerberos (krb5-1.4.1), and OpenSSH 4.0p1. I've created two AD accounts, and extracted keys mapped to "host/hostname.domainname.com at REALM.COM" and

odfWeave error
odfWeave is throwing up a cryptic error, after successfully processing a file with a large number of figures (~30) and many \Sexpr{} calls. The error is (at least to me) cryptic. I am not sure where to look to correct this problem. Here's the error: Post-processing the contents Error in .Call("RS_XML_Parse", file, handlers, endElementHandlers, as.logical(addContext), :

OpenSSH: multiple vulnerabilities in the new PAM code
This affects only 3.7p1 and 3.7.1p1. The advice to leave PAM disabled is far from heartening, nor is the semi-lame blaming the PAM spec for implementation bugs. I happen to like OPIE for remote access. Subject: Portable OpenSSH Security Advisory: sshpam.adv This document can be found at: http://www.openssh.com/txt/sshpam.adv 1. OpenSSH Authentication on Solaris w/ NIS+ Problem
Hello, I am having a very aggrivating problem, and I will try and provide all of the necessary information. I have openssh-3.7.1p2 with openssl-0.9.6k installed on Solaris 8. Here is what I've been able to determine so far: 1. Local account authentication works fine (non-NIS+). 1a. NIS+ is running at security level 2 2. Telnet authentication works fine. 2a. When I use the SSH client,

Terminal settings
So this has been bugging me for a few years now and I can always "fix" the problem, but I don't know if that's actually the correct way. So the issue is terminal emulation. I use Secure CRT (vandyke.com) to connect to any and all of my servers through SSH. Whether the terminal is set to 'linux' or 'xterm' makes no difference, I always get this output when I run a

Bus Error with openssh 3.7.1p1 on 64-bit Sparc/Solaris
I compiled openssh 3.7.1p1 on Solaris 9 with the Forte compiler in 64-bit mode. After authentication, a forked child of sshd dies with a Bus Error in `read_etc_default_login' (session.c). The reason is the use of `sscanf' with control string "%5lo" on a `mode_t' value. On Solaris in 64-bit mode, `mode_t' is an `unsigned int' (32 bits), whereas `long' is 64
