RE Openssh-3.7.1p1
I tried the same work-around on Irix 6.5.15, with both GCC and SGI C compilers. I was able to get it to run and prompt for a password, then it just shut down. Still no solution, but I will continue working. Anyone get it to run on Irix yet? Jim Attempted compilation of openssh v3.7.1p1 on SGI IRIX 6.5.13. Compilation failed due to missing inet_ntoa.h in openbsd-compat. Copied inet_ntoa.h from

Irix UseLogin wtmp/utmp bug
I am using the "UseLogin yes" configuration parameter to call the /usr/bin/login program on SGI Irix, (we are using Irix version 6.5.13). I do this because the SGI login program is AFS awhere and checks out a token for you and I do not want to compile the Kerberos version of sshd, (it is to messy for me to support). Everything seems to work fine accept the wtmp(x) and utmp(x) files do

2.9.9p2 on SGI Irix
Just a FYI: OpenSSH-2.9.9p2 compiles just fine on Irix 6.5.13, using the MIPSPro-7.3 compiler (gcc-3.0 creates a binary that gives funny log messages), linking against the freeware OpenSSL package from freeware.sgi.com No PAM, but anyway... This is how i did it: bash-2.04# export CC=cc bash-2.04# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/openssh \ --with-ldflags=-L/usr/freeware/lib32 \

bad include in inet_ntoa.c (versions openssh-3.7p1 & openssh-3.7.1p1)
"openbsd-compat/inet_ntoa.c" includes "inet_ntoa.h" which doesn't exist. Deleting the "#include" line allows inet_ntoa.c to compile and the resulting programs work fine. ->Spike

Use the OpenSSH 3.6 uidswap.c for building 3.7 under IRIX
[resending with uidswap.c instead of uidwrap.c] Once I got past the missing inet_ntoa.h weirdness, I ran into an sshd that died a lot. It appears that IRIX doesn't like some of the extra checks added between 1.23 and 1.24 of uidswap.c. Not sure if that constitutes an IRIX bug or not, but helpfully this helps someone. -- Mail: mjo at dojo.mi.org WWW: http://dojo.mi.org/~mjo/ Phone: +1

openssh-3.7.1p1 -- openbsd-compat/inet_ntoa.h missing
Hello I just installed openssh-3.7.1p1 on IRIX64 6.5 04100802 IP27. The compilation failed since the header file openbsd-compat/inet_ntoa.h was missing. I downloaded the package from different sources including ftp.openbsd.org, there was no difference. Since inet_ntoa.c has not been changed, copying the inet_ntoa.h from openssh-3.6p1 fixed the problem. The package should be fixed anyway.

error compiling portable openssh 3.6.1p1 on SGI IRIX 6.5x
Hi, First checking out http://www.openbsd.org/errata.html Following is output and error from trying to compile the latest openssh on SGI IRIX (using cc). Previous versions of openssh have compiled cleanly on this system using the following configure options. Is there a quick fix for this? Cheers, Lachlan. ------------------------------------------------------- For SGI IRIX 6.5x 10151453

configure bug with IRIX 6.5 (Makedep) (PR#288)
Full_Name: Leo Caves Version: 0.65.0 OS: SGI/IRIX 6.5 Submission from: (NULL) (144.32.72.76) using default configure under SGI/IRIX 6.5. (I switched to gnumake, after initial problems, this might not be necesssary). the make rule for creating dependencies is wrong for the SGI C compiler. The rule assumes that cc -M file.c -o file.d works (it doesn't). One needs to explicitly capture stdout

inet_ntoaHi,
Hi, Trying to compile under IRIX 6.5.21 and keep getting the error " inet_ntoa.c:46: inet_ntoa.h: No such file or directory". Looked at the source code and found that unlike previous versions of the ssh software, inet_ntoa.h was not included. How do I get the software to compile? Thanks for your help, -- Gary Samuel

Mounting SMB shares on SGI IRIX
Hello, We have been successfully using Samba to access Unix filesystems on Windows computers. So far we only had SGI IRIX computers and very few Windows computers. Recently we have started adding Windows clients to the network and now we wish to do the reverse i.e. access Windows shared areas from SGI computers, mainly for backup purposes. We are using Networker to take automated backups.

Re: missing directory entries on irix
Thanks for the patch, unfortunately when I installed it I had a lot more files missing from the directory listing and I have not taken much time to look at why. But it certainly is the cast that off_t on the IRIX box is 8 bytes in the current OS, however the compilers seem to convert the long values properly so long as overflow does not occur. Thanks to your suggestion on looking at the
