Splint annotations for rsync from CVS
Hi -- I've added splint annotations to rsync code from CVS. The resulting work-in-progress is at ftp://people.redhat.com/jbj/rsync-splint.tar.gz Splint is a lightweight assertion checker, details at http://www.splint.org Any interest in including splint annotations in rsync source code? If so, inquire privately and I'll try to assist. 73 de Jeff -- Jeff Johnson ARS N3NPQ

R-beta: R has underflows on sparc-redhat-linux
Hi -- I'm trying to package R for inclusion on some upcoming Red Hat Powertools distribution. I have started with the 0.61 version packaged by Martyn Plummer <plummer at iarc.fr> (Thanks Martyn!) and have upgraded to 0.62-2. I have succeeded in running R demo's on i386-redhat-linux-gnu, and now I am also trying to get the alpha and sparc versions working. On sparc-redhat-linux,

clicking backspace in centos3 makes ^?
While in centos3, using vim and clicking the backspace I see the ^? character instead of it actually deleteing the previous character. In centos4 this was not a problem. I have rad about remapping keys and such, but can someone tell me what the difference between centos4 and centos3 is so I can make the change to make it work on centos3.

rhel3 < centos3 updates
Hi all, I've been approached by someone who has an installation of rhel ES 3 (taroon update 2) to see whether I can take over doing security and other updates for them (no current rhn subscription). CMS centos3
Anyone using or recomend a content management system that will install without out a lot of mucky muck on a Centos3 system? I looked at Zope but it needs a newer Python, Midgaard looks likes it's geared towards RHEL4. OpenCMS looks like it runs on java so that might work. I have yet to look at Rubyrails and Django.

Bonding in CentOS3 vs. CentOS4
I am able to bring up a bonded NIC in Centos4 without requiring to bring up the bond0 with an ip address, but with CentOS-3 I must assign the NIC an address or eth0 and eth1 will not slave. I need to bring bond0 up without an ip address becuase I will be using tagged VLANs. ie. <snip /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bond0> DEVICE=bond0 BOOTPROTO=none ONBOOT=yes IPADDR=169.254.0.1

Running a 32-bit application on CentOS3-x64
Hi, I'm trying to run Norman anti-virus on a CentOS 3 box, x64. Is it possible? Running the binary gives me this error: [root at server bin]# ./nvcc -bash: ./nvcc: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory I guess I would have to install i386 libraries that it requires, as well. It it possible? Regards, Ugo
