Wine-users mail storm - long explanation
Hi All,
>>>Clarification: I'm getting a flood of wine-users emails.
Yes, I'm seeing this too. I spent all day today trying to
understand why this is happening, and failed, but I think
I have just now figured it out.
As far as I can tell, the flood of messages are all the
messages that were posted to the newsgroup since the last
time the newsgroup and wine-users mailman list

Library split to be merged -- looking for a name
Hi everyone,
Judging from the lack of complaints about the split, I think I can go
safely forward with that. The only thing to decide is the name of the
new library that will contain the preprocessor, the AEC, jitter buffer,
and resampler. So far, I've got a few potential names:
- libspeaks
- libspeexproc
- libspeexvoip
- libspeech
- libspoke
Let me know (in private so as to not flood the

MeetMe: Zap channels don't ever disconnect. . .
I was playing around with conferencing tonight. I was able to place a
bunch of SIP phones and a couple of my Zap FXS phones into a conference.
So I thought, "Let's see what it's like when people come in from outside."
So I called a friend and had him call in on one of my Zap channels,
WHICH IS CONNECTED TO MY POTS LINE THAT DOESN'T DO DISCONNECT SUPERVISION.

Help attack DDOS
Server software firewall cannot help with ddos attacks.
Basically if those are indeed ddos attacks you’ll have to look into
mitigation solutions which are quite expensive. CloudFlare won’t work as
well since they do not support streaming.
You should consider getting a server at a data center which provide ddos
mitigation, I know that OVH’s mitigation is quite good.

dealing with spoofing
Here's a thought I just thunk, folks: some scum, apparently in eastern
Europe, has harvested my email, and is using it in the Reply-To: in its
spamming efforts. Now, I realize that some mails go out from noreply, but
other than that, is there a good reason why a mailserver would not be
configured to send delivery failure to *both* Reply-To and From?

flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
I left in some of the parameters I've been testing commented out.
Interestingly, we've noticed another client triggering the same type of symptoms every morning at around the same time. Those symptoms being a line 'lookup_name_smbconf for COMPUTERNAME$ failed' and a flood of failed connection attempts from the same client. The issue seemed to resolve itself after a few minutes

smtp question
Correct me if I'm wrong here but when a message bounces and the mailer/mta
generates a bounce message shouldn't the from field have <> in it instead
of an email addres (ie. MAILER-DAEMON@domain.com).
The list was nailed with over 13,000 bounce messages(and they keep coming)
from ONE list subscriber and I wasn't sure if their smtp server wasn't
doing what it should. I

[LLVMdev] Phabricator unreachable
Apparently the domain entry for chandlerc.com has expired, and thus
phabricator is basically unable to work (as all mails bounce).
I'm trying to get in touch with Chandler to solve this as quickly as
possible.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
/Manuel
