Error compiling in RedHat 9
I thought I would give RedHat 9 a try with Asterisk..I thought it would be a good idea to use the latest version..
Zaptel, Zapata and Libpri all appear to have compiled sucessfully..
But.. (Why is there always a but??)
It seems Asterisk is having issues with 'termcap' or 'tgetent' whatever that is..
Here is the output from 'make install'..

[LLVMdev] win32 assemblers and linkers for llvm
I made some researches how llvm, possibly with other tools, can be a full
backend for compiler writers (with the final result being an executable file
or dynamic linked library). Here are the results:
A. Assemblers
When I saw that the I86 target for llvm with the Intel syntax targets MASM
(I tested with the MASM version from http://www.masm32.com/ ), it was a bad
surprise for me. This is

Can I get rid of i86 packages and libraries on an x86_64 virtual server?
The server is a vpn with only 20 GB of storage. I would like to free up
disk space. Even if I must keep some i86 stuff, I think I can get rid of
the dev packages for it.
Thanks,
John

wine for the mac?
Still, I stand corrected.
After reading the site FAQ, I found out that Plex86 _won't_ run on a mac.
It is only good for booting i86 based OSes _on_ an i86 based *n?x
Bochs is his best bet yet of running wine on a mac.

Re: IP-500 config
Thanks,
I got everything to load via ftp. The phone appears to correctly boot
from the config files. I also put the latest firmware there and the
phone sucessfully loaded it.
For some reason, the phone and * don't see each other. This is the part
that confuses me. Any clues as to why the phone won't register?

Ok.. I have done some more digging and the problem seems to be caused by chan_capi not detecting that the call has been answered.. I downgraded chan_capi from 0.2.3b to 0.2.2 and the system is working fine..
Kapjod, do you know of this problem?

xen vs. vmware server
Can anyone offer informed comments on the relative merits of
choosing xen over vmware server, or vice versa? The target OS
would all be CentOS4.2 or later as they become available. The host
hardware would all be 2.8GHz i86-P4 with 250 GB IDE drives and 2 GB
RAM.

Firewalling, Ports and rtp.conf..
Hi,
Am I correct in this..
I want to setup IPTABLES to protect my * box..
The default rtp.conf defines that * will use ports 10000 to 20000..
IAX listens on 5036..
SIP listens on 5060..
I am assuming all ports used by * are UDP..
So I am planning on setting my server to block all inbound traffic except UDP ports 5060, 5036 and 10000-20000..
Am I leaving anything out??
Thanks..

Authenticating with Active Directory
Hi all,
I need to authenticate Active Directory users in Solaris. I wrote a program
to do it using smbclient.a lib, but the method Valid_User is returning aways
the code 1 (Network Error). The program is in attachment.
When I use the following code, the user is sucessfully authenticated:
smbclient '\\192.168.0.20\downloads' -W adteste -U dmadmin%Senha123
But, this command log in the

R doesn't use all available memory
Hi,
I'm running R 1.5.1 under Solaris 5.8 (i86), 2GB physical RAM. R can't run
memory intensive jobs even though the system reports plenty of free memory: R
seems to refuse to take more than about 800Mb even though there is apparently
about 950Mb still free - not to mention swap space. I've tried changing
mem.limits() etc. with no effect.
The result is an error of the ilk

I am using R-62.1 from the RedHat5.0 rpm's on i86 Linux.
Do later snapshots correct this, or is this a running bug in R awaiting
