[PATCH] fix sftp to preserve permissions and uid/gid
Sftp fails to correctly preserve permissions when fetching a file. It adds
write permission for the owner (presumably so it can write the file).
Sftp also fails to preserve the uid/gid. Added code so that if is running
as root, uid and gid are preserved.
patch is based on Openssh 3.4p1.

[PATCH] Improving sftp client performance
The included patch for openssh 3.0.2p1 implements overlapping read
requests for the sftp client. It should be able to handle weird cases
such as shriking files and reordered responses. This is only the first
shot, and I'd be happy for any comments. I plan to implement something
similar for the write path if this works out well.
The maximum number of outstanding requests is quite high at

AllowUsers Change
Markus, ignore the other stuff I sent.. I need to go back to bed and stop
trying to code.. <sigh>
For everone else.. Will this make everyone happy?
This does the follow.
it will always honor AllowUsers.
If there is no Allow/DenyGroups it stated they are not in allowUsers. IF
there are AllowDenyGroups it tries them. And then stated they are not in
either AllowUsers nor AllowGroups

[PATCH] Build problem in current portable CVS
Hi,
I just tried to build the latest portable code from CVS on Cygwin.
I stumbled over a problem with the definitions of gai_strerror and
ssh_gai_strerror.
On systems not having gai_strerror, the fake-rfc2553.c file defines
its own version of gai_strerror, and fake-rfc2553.h additionally has
this definition of gai_strerror:
#define gai_strerror(a) (ssh_gai_strerror(a))
OTOH, misc.c

sftp/scp performance testing
Folks, I've noticed poor performance using sftp. If anyone has any
advice on how to improve performance, I'd like to hear it. Test simply
involved transferring a single 143MB MP3 file using defaults for all the
program configs. The opensshd 3.0.2p1 server is used in all tests.
Software:
openssh suite 3.0.2p1
psftp (putty sftp client) latest dev snapshot
pscp (putty scp client) latest

group calculations with other columns for the ride
Hello,
I can get the median for each factor, but I'd like another column to go
with each factor. The nm column is a long name for the lvls column. So
unique work except for the order can get messed up.
Example:
x =

does not equal conditional
I am trying to figure out how to write a conditional statement that will
execute only if a specified variable is not empty.
Right now my view looks like this:

<dd><a href="<%= link.url %>"><%= link.title %></a></dd>
<% end %>
Action:

help needed on function call
Hi there,
I am confused about fucntion call. After defining a function, I called it
within another function.
dt<-cars; #a copy of R internal dataset "cars" created;
dt$cat1<-ifelse(dt$speed<20,0,1);
dt$ind<-ifelse(dt$speed<15,1,2); #group variable;
freqtot <- function(data,var){

RJS -- What am I missing?
This is driving me nuts:-)
I''ve brought it down to a simplified case where I''m rendering this rjs
template:
page.insert_html :top, ''cat1'', "<li>Some list item</li>"
According to FireBug, this is what I''m actually getting in the browser:
try {
new Insertion.Top("cat1", "<li>Some list

A question on Compilation errors...
Hello
I am attempting to build on a LynxOS platform and am using a old
version of zlib and OpenSSL-0.9.6a. I get past the configure stage by
ignoring the zlib version check. However, at make stage I run into the
following undefineds. Any idea what may be causing this. I am using
version 3.8p1 of OpenSSH.
Thank you in advance for your response

Lattice: multiple data sets on same plot
Hi,
I have two data sets; one is a population and the other a sample of
that population. I am trying to plot both on the same trellis display.
# Example data set with two numerical attributes and two categorical

matrix manipulations
Hi,
I am having some difficulties with matrix operations. It is a little hard to explain it so please bear with me. I have a very large data set, large enough that it needs to be split in parts in order to deal with. I can work things on these "parts" but the problem lies in adding together these parts for the final answer.
So that been said, let's say that i split the data in 2

R Graphic - Tellis as a potential
Hello all,
I have been meaning to learn R for a while and have just subscribed to this
list. I am planning to give R a shot at one of my live projects. I am looking
to explore graphical features of R on my data below.
Sample Data:
Cat1 - Cat2 - Cat3 - Cat4 - NumPeople - Salary
H - L - H - L - 100 - 50000
L - L - L - L - 40 - 30000
- H - H - - 100 - 45000
Cat1 through Cat4 are

Using a 'for' loop : there should be a better way in R
I need to apply a yearly inflation factor to some
wages and supply some simple sums by work category. I
have gone at it with a brute force "for" loop approach
which seems okay as it is a small dataset. It looks
a bit inelegant and given all the warnings in the
Intro to R, etc, about using loops I wondered if
anyone could suggest something a bit simpler or more
efficent?
Example:
