how to get rid of "kerberos"
Hi
How to get rid of kerberos, or at least to prevent to go into path?
Where is defined the path for users?
I need to configure and use rtools (I know that I should use ssh, but I
need rtools) and I think very annoying the messages from Kerberized rsh
or rlogin, like this:
-sh-3.2$ rsh kitten02
connect to address 192.168.89.2 port 543: Connection refused
Trying krb4 rlogin...

NT coexistence scenario with kerberized SAMBA and MIT single-signon
Hello,
thanks for the time to read this.
I am doing a proof of concept in the following context.
I have a NT 4.0 domain and because I don't want AD, I am moving towards
a MIT Kerberos managed domain which still gives me SSO and thru
kerberized SAMBA, file sharing.
What I have setup so far is XP workstations SSO into the MIT Kerberos
domain, I can access shares on the Samba server

Fix AFS and Kerberos interaction
Hello,
I going to use ssh with Kerberos V5 support along with support for AFS. I
don't want to use Kerberos V4 or AFS token passing. The only thing I need
from AFS is creating an AFS token (using appropriate function from krb5 API)
after user's authentication. It seems to me that such scenario is not much
supported by the current code. Rather it is assumed only Kerberos 4 will be
used

Using kerberized SSHD. Question.
I have a kerberized SSHD installed on HOST-1, a login server for the
outside world.
How can I make it so users are still authenticated via kerberos, even
though they haven't yet received a ticket?
The main reason for this is that a user who is at home, no vpn, but has
an ssh client could then login and be authenticated by kerberos using
password authentication, get a ticket, then be allowed

PATCH: krb4/krb5/... names/patterns in auth_keys entries
This patch (to OpenSSH 3.0.2p1) adds support for using krb4, krb5 and
other principal names in authorized_keys entries.
It's a sort of replacement for .klogin and .k5login, but it's much more
general than .k*login as it applies to any authentication mechanism
where a name is associated with the ssh client and it supports name
patterns and all the normal authorized_keys entry options

rsh problems in CentOS 5.2 (was "cvs command failure on 5.2")
Okay, I've narrowed the problem down quite a bit. As previously
reported, in CentOS 5.2 I get this:
$ cvs log Makefile
poll: protocol failure in circuit setup
cvs [log aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)
Turns out this is a problem with rsh:
$ rsh khan ls

KerberosIV support
Hi All,
The OpenBSD tree is likely to be dropping KerberosIV support very soon.
We will ultimately follow suit, but if there are many Krb4 users we may
give a transition period of a release or two.
AFAIK we don't compile at all against MIT KrbIV because of library
conflicts.
So, who is using OpenSSH Krb4 support at the moment?

Fully kerberized mail system
Hello,
Is it possible to use Dovecot in a fully kerberized mail system?
We have configured authentication via kerberos, now we would like the
imap deamon to access a kerberized nfs file system. Has any one any
experiences?
Regards,
Matthew.

OpenSSH w/ kth-krb4 on AIX
Hi,
I'm suffering from a memory corruption problem when compiling OpenSSH
3.0.2p1 with kth-krb4 1.1 on AIX 4.3.2 and 4.3.3. The symptom is that
the file name gets zeroed out during ssh key generation, for example
during "make install":
Generating public/private rsa1 key pair.
open failed: No such file or directory.
^ filename normally goes here
When I remove krb4 from the

KTH krb4 and OpenSSL conflict building OpenSSH 3.0.2p1
Hi,
I configured OpenSSH 3.0.2p1 with
./configure --disable-suid-ssh --with-pam --with-kerberos4=/usr/athena \
--with-afs=/usr/afsws --with-ipaddr-display \
--with-ssl-dir=/afs/bi/v/@sys/libraries/openssl/latest
My "latest" OpenSSL is 0.9.6a. KTH krb4 is 1.1.
When linking the binaries, the KTH krb4 libdes conflicts with the
OpenSSL libdes. It seems to be possible to get around

kerberized ssh on Mac OS X?
Sigh. Is anyone here working getting K5 kerberized ssh onto Mac OS X?
I'm having trouble building with the Apple krb5 and OS X include files -
seems fp.h gets sucked in by something, and it's got it's own idea
of what "log()" is...
Is there a better place to ask this question? Be gentle, please.
Thanks.

Kerberized NFS4 w/AD 2008 R2
Is anyone currently using CentOS 5.5 with 2008 R2 AD authentication and a
fully Kerberized NFSv4? If so would you mind sharing your configuration
with me?
I have been able to successfully get it working with Windows 2003 as
discussed earlier on the list

With the exception that I had to use dynamic UIDs on the machine since we

Not for a good many years.
Are you using v3 or v4 NFS?
Also, you can probably stuff the rpc.gss* and idmapd services into
verbose mode, which may give you a better ideas as to whats going on.
And yes, the kernel does some kerberos caching. I think 10 to 15 minutes.
