Changes to OpenSSH for NetWare
I have attached a diff file with the changes to existing OpenSSH source
files to
accomodate the NetWare platform. All changes are #ifdef wrapped using
one in
one of the following defines:
HAVE_NETWARE - Building for NetWare
USE_EDIR - Using eDirectory(TM) for authentication.
NICI - Using Novell International Cryptography Infrastructure
(NICI)
I have successfully built the OpenSSH-3.5p1

OpenSSH port to NetWare 6
I'm a software developer at Novell. I have been tasked with porting OpenSSH to the NetWare 6.0 OS. I would like to include my NetWare specific changes,#ifdef'd of course, in the portable releases at some point. Whom should I contact with regard to this? And are there any guidlines I can look at online to minimize any disturbance this may cause to other platforms?
Any assistance that

Use of OpenSSH name?
I recently completed porting OpenSSH 3.5p1 for inclusion in the next
major release of NetWare. When refering to the OpenSSH product in
documentation and during installation, Novell would like to use the name
"OpenSSH on NetWare".
I could not find any reference on www.openssh.com concerning the use of
the OpenSSH name when included with base OS installations. I am looking

recommendation for a tricky AD/netware setup
We have a co-operative project where we have 2 separate organisations
using 2 different server environments. One uses Active Directory and
windows file servers, the other eDirectory and Netware servers. We want
to do a file server that handle users from both domains. It is easy
enough to use kerberos authentication for the Active Directory users and
LDAP to an eDirectory server for the Netware

SFTP in Java
Hi,
I have to implement SFTP using a Java program.
I am looking for a package that implements a SFTP Client(preferably with
sample code on usage). I need this in order to do SFTP file upload from my
Java program.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Samba server authenticating to NetWare server?
Hello,
I've been Googling and O'Reillying around this problem for the last
week without success, so I'm either stupid or it's not possible. My
money's still on stupid.
Can someone confirm that I can't do what I want to do:
- Have a SuSE 9.1 Linux box running Samba 3.0 exporting shares by SMB.
- Have users log into Windows boxes running a NetWare client,

document request for samba + edirectory
So i have gone through the archives and see a lot of people asking
if samba can use edirectory as a source for user passwords. No i'm
down the same road myself =D my company is using edirectory 8.7.3
on Solaris and redhat enterprise linux 3. the samba server only
needs to talk to the redhat edirectory server though. From the
turtorials that i have read a lot pf people hook up edirectory

Does samba support netware authentiocation.
Can netware logins and password authenticate to samba shares?
If so is it scalable? We have a about 50000 netware users.
How do you set it up.

MYSQL asterisk configuration
Hello all.
I am a little (allot) lost on my next hurdle in getting an asterisk
system built.
I would like to get my asterisk servers configured exclusively from
database. I have read through the wiki on this subject but once again I
find that there is a certain level of knowledge that is assumed. As of
now I know nothing about databases in general and specifically MYSQL. I
do not know

Checklist for eDirectory back-end?
Aren't Friday's wonderful! I've just been hit up with a request from
management to install Samba on our Solaris 8 UNIX servers to share out
information to the windows PC's. This wouldn't be an issue if the
backend was Windows AD but in our case it's eDirectory. The shares also
need to be seamlessly accessible to eDirectory based groups/users
without interfering with the

Samba3 and eDirectory as LDAP - HELP
I've got problem with Samba3 when I want to connect to eDirectory. The samba
could not connect to the local eDirectory server. The Samba and the eDir can
be found on the same Linux box which is a SusSe 9.1. The eDir and the Samba
are working pretty good but cant see each other. Is it possible to connect
from Samba 3 to Novell's eDirectory ? What are the syntaxes to these lines

Samba with eDirectory
Hello,
Can Samba join an eDirectory or a domain controlled by a NDS ?
Acyualy, my need is to do SSO for IE with Squid, using the NTLM
protocol. I know it uses Samba for domains controlled by an Active
Directory.
Does anybody know if it is possible with an eDirectory.
Thx for any answer or advice.

edirectory and samba
Essentially, at this point my head is about to explode.
I have been able to update the most recent samba-nds.schema from the
LDAP CVS at samba.org. And I can add posixAccount users with the
LDAPTools. But I cannot add anyone as a sambaAccount (./smbldap-useradd
-a "username"). Each time, it adds the posixAccount portion to
eDirectory, and then failes the sambaAccount add portion.

Samba Authentication Using Novell eDirectory via LDAP
Hello,
We have a RHEL 4 Update 4 server that was configured to store its
Samba passwords in eDirectory via LDAP. This was accomplished by
adding the following three lines to the [Global] section of smb.conf:
ldap admin dn = cn=admin,o=budget
ldap suffix = o=budget
passdb backend = ldapsam:ldaps://SERVER_NAME:636
After adding the lines and saving the file the admin password is

or "objectClass=Resource", to have volumes in my ldap to manage them from my

upgrade eDir NW6.5 -> Samba 3 -> Samba 4
Hi all,
I do have a question to Andrews statement...

I'm a little confused. I am probably able to run a Samba3 acting as a

Hula-project and Samba
Hello,
Has anyone run Hula Server (http://www.hula-project.org) and Samba on
the same server and got the user authentication to sync?
I imagine this would involve configuring Samba to use eDirectory
(Novell) which Hula is using for store.
I have searched everywhere for documentation referencing Hula and Samba
integration/authentication but only found one article announcing that
Novell has

Numbers that look equal, should be equal, but if() doesn't see as equal (repost with code included)
Hi!
Apologies for sending the mail without any code. Apparently somewhere along
the way the .R attachments got filtered out. I have included the code below
as clean as possible. My original mail is below the code.
Thank you again for your time.

is.na(v)<-b (was: Re: Beginner's query - segmentation fault)
I think the thread ended up with several people (not only me)
feeling certain they didn't like `is.na<-` but with the
developers defending it and me not really understanding
why.
Uwe Ligges was going to come up with an example of
`<- NA` going wrong (sorry Brian R, I mean behaving
unexpectedly), but never did, and I think the problem
has been fixed. It was apparently a problem with
