'unknow column error' when using include and associated table condition in find
Here is my weird problem.
Two models like following:
Lexeme
id:int
name:string
Structure
id:int
ref_id:string
meta_id:int
Lexeme can have many structure records through foreign key ''ref_id'' in
the structures table.
And these structure records belonging to one lexeme differs between
each other using meta_id.
And if Lexeme has structures, then there must be a top_struct whose

Strange problem with ddns AAAA delete
I am trying to setup dynamic updates with bind_dlz backend, but for some
reason if any windows client or linux with nsupdate tries to remove AAAA
record, server just 'cancelling transaction', while A and PTR records
(both on reverse ipv4 and ipv6) working fine.
If i'am remove AAAA record manually via samba-tool or windows mmc then
AAAA record can be updated, but after that it again

polymorphic association with single model as target
Hi,
I''m new to rails/ruby and not a sw programmer in the first place.
I''d like to use polymorphic associations to create tags/marks into
several dictionary tables (i.e japanese to english and japanese to
french) that share the same model. In that model I introduced a :target
field to select the database in a find query, i.e:
def self.find(*args)
for i in args

Proposal for meta-data (third revision)
Hello again!
This is the revised revised revised proposal:
http://maruku.rubyforge.org/proposal.md
http://maruku.rubyforge.org/proposal.html
http://maruku.rubyforge.org/proposal.pdf
The main change was to use an opening string of brace+colon "{:" to
not lock-up the precious "{" forever, so that in the future one could
think of using the braces also for other purposes.

getting pagination to work on joined tables
As soon as I use Model.find(:all, :include => [...], :limit => 3) I
loose associations and can''t do :conditions on joined tables. I''m not
able to do pagination in such association.
Only solution I came up with is this beast:
# I set up a paginator:
@reos_pages = Paginator.new self,
Reo.count(conds.join('' AND ''),

LoginSystem : make @session available to models
Hello.
LoginSystem is cool, it populates the @session instance variable of
controllers with many useful info.
The fact is : it would be cool to let models know about the session,
too.
For instance, after_update and after_create callbacks could store *who*
did *what* on *what.
Aim : having ActiveRecord::Base::session defined, returning the @session
of the controller which manipulates the

Perl master site changed to tobez.org?
Tobez: no disrespect intended, obviously you saw a problem with the
master sites for perl 5.8.7 and did what you could to help, and with
your position as a maintainer, I know that the trust we have in you and
your patches is well earned, so don't take this question as anything but
my well-earned paranoia rearing its ugly head:
Yes, building perl5.8.7 did seem like it had a lot of problems

transition matrix and discretized data
Hi there,
I have data on earnings of 12000 individuals at two points in time. I intend to construct a transition matrix, where the typical element, p_ij, gives the probability that an individual ends at the j-th decile of the earnings distribution given that he was was initially at the i-th decile. Thus, this is a bi-stochastic matrix. The problem is that the income data is nearly discrete in the

Thank you all for your overwhelming response !!!
The site has awarded me and my downline an oppourtunity to make 27 US

addition to 6$ opening Survey, you all have 5 more 4$ surveys totalling to

make you eligible for a lucky draw of 500$ -- Try your luck).

High availability for guests
Hello,
What is the recommended way to offer high availability to Guests?
For example, let host1, host2 and host3 be libvirt and KVM/Qemu enabled.
If I start a guest in host1, how can I guarantee that it will stay
online if host1 goes down?
GlusterFS, for example, would take care of storage; but what about CPU
and RAM? How can this be accomplished?
Thank you for any feedback or comment in

Is there a way of getting R up and running on an IPAQ 3870?
Hi,
I was wondering (as a trawl has not turned up anything) whether anyone
has any ideas regarding this matter? Does a version exist? Has anyone
been able to compile such a version? Any pointers would be most welcome,
as the ability to put an IPAQ to really productive use would be great.
Alternatively does anyone know of any other similar software to carry
out EDA and small scale post hoc

Need Help in a Combinatorial Optimzation Problem
Dear Community,
I have a problem I am trying to code in R.
Suppose there are 7 products and each have a ROI value attached to it.
There are 400 representatives who calls 150,000 customers with these
product detailing and achieve sales through the calls.
There is a cost per call and revenue earned from the call.
Constraint is revenue should be greater than the cost.
Now there can be at most 7

2) sell minutes to out clients

at the end of it, we'd like to bill our clients and see how much have we

Hi, Chauk-Mean and all -
I have just ported everything to 10.04 ubuntu, and I am pleased to note that
I was able to use prepackaged stuff almost everywhere.
Yes, it was painful before I figured it out. :)
I used apt-get to install ruby-1.8.7, all the wx libraries (including the
dev header packages)
I uninstalled the debian rubygems package completely and installed

Hello,
I'm using R code that includes a residual permutation that was written as a supplement to the paper:

The supplemental code is available at: http://www.esapubs.org/archive/ecol/E091/157/suppl-1.htm
When I execute the function, no warnings are given

Bug in minimal.rb
Hi!
I discovered WxRuby2 and WxSugar a short while ago (1.9.1) and I really
like its professional look and the platform independance. But
especially the simplification and ''rubyfication'' that you already
achieved and are planning for 1.9.2 (event handlers) is funstuff!
Thanks a lot!
And with Ruby 1.9/2 the keyword constructors will be even nicer with
the new hash syntax:
