Setauthdb defined twice in openssh-4.0p1 on AIX 5.3
When compiling openssh-4.0p1 under AIX 5.3 ML01 using gcc 3.4.3 I get the following error: > (cd openbsd-compat && make) > make[1]: Entering directory > `/usr/local/src/openssh-4.0p1/openbsd-compat' > gcc -g -O2 -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wno-uninitialized -I. -I.. -I. > -I./.. -I/usr/local/ssl/include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -c bsd-arc4random.c > In file included from

AIX patch for openssh-3.7.1p2
There are a couple of bugs in the openssh-3.7.1p2. The aix_setauthdb function does not work with other types of authentication such as AFS/DFS. The loginfailed test in configure is not correct. Also, AIX can use the wtmp logging which I added in configure. Attached is the patch. Thanks, Matt Richards -------------- next part -------------- *** openssh-3.7.1p2/openbsd-compat/port-aix.c Mon Jul 14

AIX and ADMCHG
In AIX, whenever a root user or a member of the security group changes a user's password, the ADMCHG attribute is set which means that the next time the user logs in, he will be forced to change his password. However, ssh is currently ignoring ADMCHG. I havn't seen any mention of this on the mailing list or Bugzilla, so I'm considering writing a patch to correct this problem. Has

OpenSSH 3.7.1p2 AIX loginsuccess() issue
On AIX 4.3.3 and AIX 5.1, the last successful and unsuccessful logins are no longer printer prior to the motd with either the stock openssh-3.7.1p2 or Darren's openssh-3.7.1p2-pwexp24.patch. In both cases it appears that the loginsuccess() call (auth-passwd.c stock or auth.c Darren's patch) is returning -1 and msg is not appended to loginmsg. /etc/security/lastlog is updated despite

Samba 3 Operational Question
We have three Samba 2.2.8a DC's. They share the smbpasswd database over NFS. This is not a problem whatsoever. It works wonderfully! We are becoming a complete LDAP authenticating site for everything and want to migrate the smbpasswd file to LDAP. We have the scripts to process all of this so I don't see a problem with merging the sambaSamAccount info with our posixAccount stuff which I

2.2.1p1 / AIX 4.2.1.0.06 login nits
Hi. New (2.1.1p1) login code is nicer on AIX (4.2.1.0.06). Thanks. A couple of issues, though, which I haven't really dug into yet. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen them? If not, I'll investigate & report. 1. If I set "UseLogin" to "yes", everything seems fine except that the authentication agent forwarding doesn't work. The "SSH"

[Bug 355] No last login message with PrivSep under AIX
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355 ------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2002-08-25 18:10 ------- It looks like the call to loginsuccess() fails because it's done as a non-privileged user. This is bad because in addition to generating the message it also clears the failed login counter that leads to account lockout. The following patch fixes it for me

AIX and openssh 3.7.1p2 with privsep
I am attempting to run openssh 3.7.1p2 with privsep on AIX 5.2 ML2 (with the december 2003 critical patches also). This was compiled on the host machine with the IBM Visual Age C compiler (C for AIX Compiler, Version 5). I did not have any trouble compiling. My configure was ./configure --with-tcp-wrappers, and I have the freeware tcp wrappers (freeware.tcp_wrappers.rte 7.6.1.5), and a compiled

AIX capabilities not set
Hi, we're in the process of setting up large-page support on IBM regattas, but for large-page support the users have to have a set of extra capabilities (CAP_BYPASS_RAC_VMM,CAP_PROPAGATE). This are configured on a per user basis by listing which capability each user have in /etc/security/user. Unfortunately they don't get set when the users log in via OpenSSH (3.1p1). Does anybody know

configure.in reorder patch
Feb 12 CVS (sort of, see warning below) I've had to change around some of the code in configure.in to get some platforms to compile with the --with-tcp-wrappers option. Basicly I have set it up to check headers check system libraries check for optional packages check functions I have also tried to clean up the library order as it is important on some platforms. This patch works on Solaris
