virtual mailbox users users can send, but can't read e-mail
Greetings,
I am trying to add the second virtual mailbox domain (transco.org.au) to
an existing Postfix/Dovecot/MySQL mail server. Users of the first
virtual mailbox domain (transylvania.org.au) have no problems
sending and receiving mail.
Users belonging to the second virtual mailbox domain can successfully
send mail to outside, however they won't receive the mail, though

bnlearn package compilation failure on MacOSX
Hi all.
I've recently uploaded a package (bnlearn) to CRAN. It builds fine
on both Linux (32 and 64 bit) and Windows, but fails on MacOSX ix86
because of C90 vs C99 issues:
http://www.r-project.org/nosvn/R.check/r-patched-macosx-ix86/bnlearn-00install.html
Since I've no MacOSX machine at hand, I would like to ask you:
why is C99 not the default for gcc on MacOSX ix86? Is it safe to

why does dovecot child die on these messages?
Hi Timo and other dovecot fans,
why, when I'm trying to read certain "Drafts" emails that I just
created, or edited, do the dovecot children die (or so I think).
In mutt, the behaviour is that I "c =Drafts" then select the email and I
get "connection closed to squeaky.rubberduck.com".
In Mail.app - she just loops, trying to read those headers again and

URGENT: Skip installation ix86 packages from kickstart on 64bit arch?
Hi,
Has any one know how to skip ix86 packages from
installation in Centos kickstart? Most of our machines
have 64bit Intel/AMD CPUs, and it make non-sense to
still keep 32bit compatibility. Even worse of i*86
packages is, when upgrade we have to recompile both
ix86 version and x86_64 version to get an automatic
yum upgrade.
I know we could use 'exclude' option to exclude i*86
packages

Milestone: 1000 packages on CRAN as of today(?)
Hi,
I was just looking at the "CRAN Daily Package Check Results"
[http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/checkSummary.html], and
realized there are 1000 packages on CRAN as of today (look at row 3 in
the table below). Yet another quite extraordinary milestone in R
history.

getAttr problem
Hi all,
It seems that getAttr doesn't return "names" attribute properly as in
getAttrib(x, R_NamesSymbol));
If you look at section 4.7.4 in "Writing R Extensions", the second example of
SEXP out(SEXP, SEXP) returns NULL for the names attribute of the
outer product.
This is true for R 1.7.0 on both Win2000 with mingw and Redhat 9.0 with gcc.
Is there something I am

package encoding warning
Dear list,
I'd like to get rid off a couple of warnings that have appeared in
checking my package on CRAN (I did not find them on my local machine
before submission). What puzzles me is that different platforms return
different warnings, only one of which I recognise as my obvious
mistake. The check results are at

R-alpha: R-0.49: 2 problems
I found the following 2 problems (no debugging, sorry).
* qt(0.975, 3) never returns.
Can someone please check that? Happens for me on Debian GNU/Linux/ix86
compiled with CFLAGS="-O2 -g".
* Yet another stupid way to cause a segfault:

Error: Object "x" not found

a new upload progress bar
I''m modifying techno weenie''s progress bar plug-in. Currently it works
by making the browser poll the server, via AJAX, for updates on amount
received. My plug-in provides a handler which will stream updates on
the amount received, thus only one request needs to be made. Also, the
progress can be updated at faster rates since the client doesn''t need
to poll. This should

Mongrel + BackgrounDRb + File Column = Upload Progress Bar?
Hi there,
I''ve been digging around trying to find some information (mostly examples)
on how one would handle a progress bar upload using BackgrounDRb and File
Column. I did read http://backgroundrb.rubyforge.org/ and Ezra''s blog of
course, but I still have a few questions.
I made a simple upload form (as a test) that is submitted to the
"upload_song" action.

Can''t get upload progress bar working
Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked and answered previously.
I just started looking at Merb today as I''d like to use it as an upload
server, especially the upload progress feature.
I''ve installed the latest Merb gem (0.4.2) and created a new application
to test out uploading. I took elements of the mr_blog application and
integrated them into it. I realise this

upload progress bar wih lighttpd 1.4.11?
I''m trying to implement the upload progress bar with lighttpd 1.4.11, and i''m
seeing various posts (linked below) indicating that lighty doesn''t support it.
sounds like they''re working on it, though.
anyone have any idea what the current status of this is? or if there''s a
workaround in the meanwhile?

upload progress bar
Hi, I''m currently running my rails app on lighttpd. I want to have an upload
progress bar for uploading large files. But I have read that lighttpd has
removed that functionallity right now. Should I switch over to apache 2.0
if I want this feature? Is there another way around it?
Also, I tried installing Apache 2.0 on my mac with fastcgi, but once I tried
to start the server, I get

Function/Method Execution Progress Bar
Hello,
I want to create a progress bar for the exececution of a particular
function.
I found a solution at http://brainspl.at/articles/tag/background but one
need to create a separate server that communicates the progress of a
job.
Is there anyways to change a global variable or so and have the user see
the execution stage of the function?
I tried playing with Thread but no success because
