Stratus VOS implements O_TEXT and O_BINARY but does not recognize "t". We
have the options defined in ANS C and in POSIX. I'm at home and don't have

limit of 256 characters in pathname
Hi,
We use rsync on NT (server and client) and we get errors on filenames with
a path that has in total more than 256 characters. This seems to be caused
by a limit in rsync, not in NT. Is there a way to break this limit withuo
having to manually shorten all this filenames?
Thx already!

[PATCH] rsync on cygwin - textmode config files
I've been running rsync-2.4.2 with an old patch of mine for some time for
backup purposes. Due to the recent remote bug, I thought it was time to
upgrade, even if the host was behind a firewall.
So I dug up the old patch (2.5.2 version attached), that I think I sent ages
ago to this list as well. It does the following:
(1) Firstly, the only sensible way to run something as

I recently set up a new RHEL4 server with samba-3.0.10 in a Windows 2003

I can log on as one user from different workstations on to the new samba
server. With several other users, I get this error:

[Patch] PAM Service name option
It's sometimes desired to be able to alter login policy depending upon
how the person was connecting for the ssh server. For example you might
want different rules on the internal and external interface of a
gateway. In another setup you might want an sshd with a different login
policy running on a different port - and setup different firewalling
rules (for example).

chroot-patch for 3.6.1p1?
Hi all,
I am looking for a chroot-patch like it was available for the 3.5p1 version. Does anybody has such a patch? Because chroot doesn't work with 3.6.1p1 under Reliant Unix 5.45 from Fujitsu-Siemens.

OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3, several weird terminal problems
I compiled OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3 (or at least
"uname -a"'s output of 4.0.3.0 suggests v4.3, I'm not positive).
I was able to compile zlib (1.1.4) and openssl (0.9.7a) with little
trouble.
OpenSSH took hand-hacking the includes.h file as follows:
diff -cr openssh-3.6.1p1/includes.h openssh-3.6.1p1-customized/includes.h

[PATCH] increase fd_limit to max_client_limit automatically
Hi, with a low soft limit on file descriptors, dovecot 2.2.15 warns on
startup:
Warning: fd limit (ulimit -n) is lower than required under max. load
(256 < 1000), because of default_client_limit
It could try increasing the limit first, and only report the warning if that
fails. I'm attaching a patch that does just this.
Without the patch, the soft fd limit is kept at whatever it

password expiry patch
Hello,
Can "openssh-passexpire18.patch" be used on "openssh-3.6.1p1" for solaris?
I have downloaded above patch from
"http://www.zip.com.au/~dtucker/openssh/". It looks like I was not
successful in applying it.
Thanks..

Missing 4.1 SRPMS?
I can't seem to find autofs-4.1.3-131.src.rpm on the download mirrors...
I notice that there are not many SRPMS in the 4.1 /centos/4.1/os/SRPMS
directory on the download mirrors - is this because most can be found
under /centos/4.0/os/SRPMS and /centos/4.0/updates/SRPMS? - or should
all the 4.1 SRPMS be in /centos/4.1/os/SRPMS ?
Thanks

7.3 srpms
Hi,
Can someone tell me when the 7.3 srpms will be available?
They are usually in vault but I do not see them at this time.
I need the centos-release srpm ASAP.

CentOS-5.7 SRPMS
Are the 5.7 source RPMs going to be mirrored to http://www.<my favorite mirror>/centos/ 5.7/os/SRPMS/
and http://www.<my favorite mirror>/centos/ 5.7/updates/SRPMS/ as was the case for the previous releases ?
Or are they permanently banished to http://vault.centos.org/5.7/ as per the readme.txt currently in place on most mirrors ?
Thanks

3.7.1p1 PAM Problems in RedHat 6.2
I've corresponded with several different techs at a
major dedicated webhosting provider and they too
so far have not been able to determine why the
newest version of OpenSSH 3.7.1p1 is conflicting
with PAM on our server running RedHat linux 6.2.
I've also tried installing 3.7.1p1 on other RedHat 6.2
servers and the exact same PAM problems. But on
7.1 RedHat servers I've had absolutely

Patch for 'packet.c' in openssh-3.6.1p1
Hello,
I just managed to compile openssh-3.6.1p1 on Ultrix/MIPS. One of the fixes
needed for this is the following. It's because of:
--- According to the Changelog

[packet.c]
move tos handling to packet_set_tos; ok provos/henning/deraadt

This IP_TOS is now nicely stuffed in a function, but that function should

[PATCH 1/2] drm/nouveau: Disable atomic support on a per-device basis
From: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala at linux.intel.com>
We now have per-device driver_features, so let's use that
to disable atomic only for pre-nv50.
