I think what Mr. Farr is referring to is keychain support. Keychain is provided as part of OS X. Apple published an API for it. Hello everybody, I'd like to use OpenSSH (client & server, for shell & sftp) on an embedded PC with limited resources (processor 386 SX 40Mhz 8Mb RAM). I have Linux running on it. In the past, I tried to use OpenSSH on it just to see if it could work but each connection required an incredible long time to start. I suppose that the key generation is too expensive for that processor.

Hi. Just a suggestion : in the ControlPath syntax, you could add a %H that would expand to the name of the "Host" specification matched, + %h. In my opinion, when you add a "Host" paragraph with a different name for the same target host, generally you dont want to reuse the same control socket.
