can't boot from install cd
We are migrating from Fermi Labs linux distro to the Centos 3.6 distro.
So far all of the Dell's we have installed on have worked fine but we
have two generic servers that are using Tyan Thunder K7X motherboards
with built in Adaptec Ultra 160 SCSI using AIC7899 chipset. When we try
to install on these systems the install cd seems to lockup loading the
AIC7xxx driver. Adaptec says they do not

Jim Knoble reports that firmware 1.45.7 fixed this issue for him:

I've experienced exactly the same MAC corruption using OpenSSH through a BEFSR41
with that firmware; a later firmware (1.45.7, 2003-07-31)

calls to SPA942 disconnect after 15 seconds (chan_sip.c set_destination: can't find address)
Am having a unique problem, calls received on my SPA942 seem to end after 15 seconds, but calls made from this device do not have this problem.
For this device (when receiving calls) I get periodic "chan_sip.c set_destination: can't find address for host"
I have set the "canreinvite=no" in the sip.conf. Does anyone have a sample entry from sip.conf for the Lynksys SPA 942

no nat, but one way only audio (more info)
I've an asterisk 1.2 connecting to a quescom gateway via SIP, the caller
(asterisk) can hear the called, but the called hears nothing.
Since both machines are on public ip, what other problem can it be ?
There's one configuration working :
lynksys pap -sip-> asterisk server -sip-> quescom
this way both sides can hear voice
but with :
lynksys pap connected to a switch -sip->

ext3 from whithin W2K
hello everyone,
in the past I used an utility to gain access to my ext3 filesystem from
whithin W2K, I recall that the access was very restricted in terms of modes.
Now I'm looking for that tool (of which I cannot remember the name at all)
or, better, an unlimited one.
Does anyone help me in this seeking without finding? In particular, does
anyone know of a driver which present me the ext3

Wine securityflaw.
Hello again,
(FYI, I took the liberty to change the topic since I started the
former thread "How is Win/Dos syscalls implemented in Wine?"
which I feel has gone a little bit off-topic)
I had some more thoughts on the issue...
I believe most wine users trust wine not to touch anything outside of
its configured drive space. Malicious Linux/Unix syscalls could be embedded
in windows

Loop to find dates whithin dates
Hello to all,
I have two dataframes, the first with two columns sunrise and sunset (for 10
years). Each of these columns is formatted for date time (ex: 01-Jan-2010
15:37:00)
In the second data frame I have GPS information and also a date time column
(same format ).
What I would like to do is a subset of all the rows from the second
dataframe that occurred in day time only so between sunrise

[PATCH 0/4] Turn-key PV-GRUB2 installation
This patch set should make it easier to maintain PV-GRUB2 installations.
The general idea is based on discussions I had with Xen developers
(mainly Ian Jackson) at the Ubuntu Developer Summit in May 2011; though
I never did manage to get the core port done and Vladimir beat me to
that, I think the configuration approach we discussed there is still
valid and useful.
The idea here is that people

ultra-cheap asterisk box -> sorta OT, more a bout Dell
FWIW:
I order a lot of Dells. My boss is cheap. That being said, I *like* Dell,
it's a very well designed box. It's been said many times that Dell does not
innovate, instead they copy and improve and I firmly agree with the
"improve" part - they are a dream to work on.
Some things to watch out for with Dell:
1. They typically tack on a shipping charge of $139 Cdn (yes they

[Bug 164] X-forwarding when connecting to an IPv6-enabled host doesn't work.
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164
------- Additional Comments From cjwatson at debian.org 2002-10-27 00:16 -------
Marco d'Itri suggested in http://bugs.debian.org/153154 that ssh should only
bind to AF_INET addresses in x11_create_display_inet(), since at least the
xtrans code in XFree86 doesn't support IPv6. Is this a valid approach?

Some questions re. T1 cards & QoS
I've been asked to assess the cost of implementing Asterisk with a
single T1 line in one of our offices. I've had plenty of experience
w/ TDM400 cards, but T1 is new for me so a couple of questions:
1) Will I need a digital or analogue interface card? I expect digital
is the answer, but the Digium web site said something about analogue
cards being able to support "provider T1
