AllowHosts / DenyHosts
I'd like to see a feature of the commercial ssh in openssh: AllowHosts xxx.yyy.xxx.yyy *.domain.net DenyHosts xxx.yyy.xxx.* name.domain.net This allows or denies connects from certain machines (including wildcard matching). Is there any chance for this feature to be included? No, we don't want to use tcp-wrapper for this. Bye.

Call for testing for 3.6
We are heading into a lock here. So we need to get people to test their respective platforms if they wish them to be supported out of the tar file. So if you have any patches you need to ensure your platform works speak up. We are looking at a lock on the 17th. I believe I have an AIX/Cray patch and a Tru64 patch sitting in my mailbox that I'll be looking at soon and more than likely

AllowHosts support in sshd missing.
Hello all, I just noticed that AllowHosts feature of SSH Inc's sshd isn't there in OpenSSH yet. Has anyone been working on this? Am I the only one that seems to miss this feature? AllowUsers and AllowGroups is a very nice feature though :) -- Pekka Savola "Tell me of difficulties surmounted, Pekka.Savola at netcore.fi not those you stumble over and

AllowHosts implementation plea.
Hello all, I'd like to see sshd_config directive AllowHosts implemented. This is about the only SSH 1.2.27 (etc.) thing not supported by OpenSSH. The reason for this would be drop-in compatibility. Sure, you can do about the same thing with hosts.allow, but the syntax is a bit different and you'd have to modify sshd_config and you lose the possibility to have multiple security layers

Password in SSH scrips
Hi, Suppose my backup server has to copy every day at the end of the night, all files from the Web Server. So every day I will have a script that copies files using SCP. I USE HP-UX . But this script must work without anyone entering passwords. I know that SCP will need Passwords. How can I make a script with this feature ? Using keygen ? If posssible, describe with details how

encrypt authentication credentials with payload in the clear?
Is it possible to use encryption only for authenticate and then switch to no encryption? I've looked at the code for OpenSSH 3.5p1, cipher.c, and it looks like the answer is no, at least for protocol 1. However, I cannot tell if that is a deliberate design limitation of the implementation or if it is inherent in ssh protocol 2. My dilemma is a customer who wants to use their network IDS

COMPATIBILITY: AllowHosts/DenyHosts/SilentDeny not supported
Hi, here's another feature request that I just found and where I would like to hear your comments first: > The above commands are valid ssh-nonfree, but openssh doesn't like them. Hard disk activity will not die down
I updated my backup server this weekend from CentOS 7 to CentOS 8. OS disk is SSD, /dev/md0 are two 4TB WD mechanical drives. No hardware was changed. 1. wiped all drives 2. installed new copy of 8 on system SSD 3. re-created the 4TB mirror /dev/md0 with the same WD mechanical drives 4. created the largest single partition possible on /dev/md0 and formatted it ext4 5. waited several hours for the

Additions to UPGRADING?
In upgrading from ssh-1.1.25 to openssh-2.1.1p1, I've come across a pair of incompatibilities not mentioned in the UPGRADING list. The first involves the authorized_keys file: n. No un-quoted spaces are permitted in the options field of the authorized_keys file. While this was documented as a restriction in F-Secure SSH, in practice this was not enforced. OpenSSH does enforce this

Feature disappeared?
Hi, working on tightening our network (somewhat) today, I found that OpenSSH doesn't seem to have the "AllowSHosts" directive (in sshd_config) that Commercial SSH (at least 1.2.25 & up) has. Now I wonder whether that hasn't been implemented yet, or has been dropped for a certain reason. I find this very useful for what I want to achieve - inside the company network,

Confirming kerberos for upcoming OpenSSH portable release.
O.K. I know it was too late to make changes for the next release, but thankfully there werent any changes needed. Kerberos over ssh protocol 1 worked out of the box from CVS today (2002/10/04-14:30) The krb5 patches we were using (I think from Olaf K) was all in the code. The only thing I had to patch to get things working was removing the scard-install from the Makefile.in The compiled code

Best practices on backingup/restore VMs
I just moved from F11 to F13 and I'm find no information on the best way to restore VMs. I had just copied /var/lib/libvirt (with the VMs off) as part of my backup (I already backup all of /etc). But virt-manager doesn't allow creations of VMs without installing. Also, as a side note, the search feature on the website doesn't seem to allow me to search using documentation only. --
