? NFSv4 and ZFS: removing write_owner attribute does not stop a user changing file group ownership
Hi I am accessing files in a ZFS file system via NFSv4. I am not logged in a root. File permissions look as expected when I inspect them with ls -v and ls -V I only have owner and group ACLs...nothing for everyone. bash-3.00$ id uid=100(timt) gid=10001(ccbcadmins) bash-3.00$ groups ccbcadmins staff bash-3.00$ ls -v testacl -rwxrwx---+ 1 timt ccbcadmins 0 Jan 31 16:24 testacl

kex guess methods incorrect?
Hey guys, My second post in the last few days (boy I'm active! ;)). We've had a few issues with SSH Secure Shell version 3.2.0 (build 267) and sftp and while trying to figure it out I noticed something in the debug output that I think should be brought to OpenSSH's attention. Ssh2Transport/trcommon.c:1518: All versions of OpenSSH handle kex guesses incorrectly. Does anyone know

Problem with local email after shorewall installation
Hi, Summary of problem: Local mail on the firewall stopped working after installing shorewall Background yesterday I installed shorewall, based on the debian package from www.backports.org (which seems to be a 2.0.3 package) on an otherwise virgin debian woody set up. Configuration was done based on the two-interface setup. Kernel is 2.6.8.1 unpatched. A 2.4.23 kernel, with

SCO 5.0.5 (i686-pc-sco3.2v5.0.5), scp and the -n option
Ok, using openssh-SNAP-20010126.tar.gz, two versions of the server both compiled with the configure commands as below, one with USE_PIPES defined and one without. This is on SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 (using SCO dev environment, SCO make, etc.) The client is always linux, openssh 2.3.0p1. export CCFLAGS='-L/usr/local/lib -I/usr/local/include' ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc/ssh

chroot.diff
Hello, I'm not sure if this is the list to mail, but I have updated chroot.diff for openssh 3.1. I thought more people are most likely using this and figured some people may lack the ability to update it themselves as certain functions were modified enough to require new function prototypes etc... I'd be happy to modify this again for future releases if you'd like. As I'm not on

Chroot (theres that word again...)
Hey everyone, It appears my last patch doesn't work entirely. Looks like I forgot to edit sshd.c for the priv seperation scheme (which is really cool by the way). Heres the new patch for chrooting system users (does not attempt to chroot the priv seperation user as ssh does that on it's own already). -James PS. Once again, I'm not on the openssh mailing list so if you have any

multiphasic growth curve analysis
Greetings R Help Group, How does one effect a multiphasic logistic growth model with 4 phases (e.g. Koops 1986; Weigel, Craig, Bidwell and Bates 1992; Grossman and Koops 2003) with R. possible memory leak involving looping, optimization, and gam
When I run the gam function as part of an optimization and do the optimization many times using a loop, I'm finding that memory use increases over time (based on simply monitoring top). Below is some example code that involves varying the penalty parameter in gam, trying to find the value that gives exactly 50 edf for a simple smoothing problem. I thought I would post to the list to see if

An example (was RE: file connection, while, readLines and bro wser)
Prof. Gentleman (and R-help), Here's an example of what didn't work. I still don't understand why. Function: trycon <- function(file, n) { f.con <- file(file, open="rt") on.exit(close(f.con)) i <- 0 while( length(readln <- readLines(f.con, 1)) > 0 ) { x <- unlist(strsplit(readln, " ")) if(length(x) <= 6 && x[3] ==
