Re(2): Mime Type and Ogg (More)
Hi,
I don't really know the details of the discussion, but I'd like to
present this issue from a user-oriented perspective, and from the
perspective of how Nautilus wants to use data files.
In brief, Nautilus makes the assumption that the mime type is
sufficient to pick the right applicatiob or pluggable component to
view/edit a particular content type. This is quickly coming to be the

Dead-air detection
I'm starting on a bit of a long term project (for myself) to implement dead
air detection with an icecast stream.
Basically at the location where we have icecast implemented it's a radio
studio and it'll be good if we have the system automatically detect if the
dj output is dead.
To which I am firstly posting on here to find out if anyone's already
implemented such a system and

How to do a time-stratified case-crossover analysis for air pollution data?
Dear Experts,
I am trying to do a time-stratified case-crossover analysis on air
pollution data and number of myocardial infarctions. In order to avoid
model selection bias, I started with a simple simulation.
I'm still not sure if my simulation is right. But the results I get from
the "ts-case-crossover" are much more variable than those from a glm.

"cd" floating in the air in the man page for paste/paste0
Hi,
While reading about the new 'recycle0' argument of paste/paste0, I
spotted a mysterious "cd" floating in the air in the man page:
recycle0: ?logical? indicating if zero-length character arguments (and
all zero-length or no arguments when ?collapse? is not
?NULL?) should lead to the zero-length ?character(0)?.

Cursor lag: Mac High Sierra, R 3.4.2, Macbook Air 2017
Hi,
I'm running High Sierra on a new "2017" Macbook Air. I upgraded R from a
previous version (3.2 or 3.3 ?) and now there is a huge lag on the curser
in the R command window itself and in script files. I am not using RStudio.
There is a page on GitHub detailing the same problem currently when using
Rstudio. I have no idea whether this problem is related or not.
Cheers

[FWD: [Qemu-devel] KVM Forum 2013 presentations on Google+ (Hangouts on-air)]
FYI for those not able to visit KVM Forum this year, we're attempting
to have presentations streaming via G+. No guarantees about success,
since we're at mercy of the Hotel net connection, but if streaming
fails we'll at least have recordings of all sessions to be uploaded
afterwards.
Keep an eye on the G+ community mentioned below if you want to try
and catch any live sessions.

Com-On-Air (PCI/PCMCIA) chan drivers?
Does anybody know whether somebody ever implemented (linux) drivers or a
chan component for the Com-On-Air cards, or is the only way to make it
work the use of a Windows box as Dect to SIP gateway for *? (Or does it
work at all?)
I can still get the cards, which would be great to retire the old DECT
based PBX, but it would be of little use if it's not going to work, now is
it? ;-)

that's not strictly true though is it? Anyone can form a company and
supply R, as long as everyone complies with the license. You are also free
to download R from public services and do it without any corporate
wrappings and trappings, which is

R for the US Air Force
Hello,
The US Air Force used to have R available on our main network, but now those who need to accept it back are
being very particular about what they're accepting in terms of official documentation.
Would you be able to help me with this endeavor? I'm attaching a pdf that shows what documentation they'd
require for us to re-establish R as being acceptable on the network

Com-on-Air - DECT card
I've received my Com-on-Air DECT card this morning and while I have configured it (both the DECT registration and SIP to Asterisk configuration), I am running into a "Call missing Call ID from" error message. I can call from a DECT handset to an extension, but not the reverse.
Not being an expert, it seems to me that Asterisk is looking for a CallerID from the DECT card. I

DAHDIScan() only returns dead air
Hello,
I'm running Asterisk 1.4.26.2, DAHDI 2.2.0.2, and libpri 1.4.10.2 on Ubuntu
with a Digium TE122 connected to my PRI.
I have an extension setup so that managers can monitor calls:
----
# grep 9900 /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf
exten => 9900,1,DAHDIScan()
exten => 9900,2,Hangup
----
For whatever reason, this no longer works. It's not often used, so I don't
even know when
