OpenSSH Portable Tinderbox available to test.
Hi All. After one false start, I now have a Tinderbox up and running for the OpenSSH portable tree. For those not familiar with it, Tinderbox is a tool for automatically displaying the status of builds and tests. At the moment, I do 1 update and 4 builds hourly. It's not fully functional yet but the basics work. It can be found at http://dodgynet.dyndns.org/tinderbox/OpenSSH_Portable/ (I

Portforwarding using the control master.
Hi all, currently I am considering writing a patch for OpenSSH that will allow portforwarding using the control_master unix domain socket. The idea is to introduce an extra SSHMUX command, SSHMUX_COMMAND_SOCKS, which will then pass control to the normal socks functions used for dynamic forwarding. The main reason for me to write this patch are: - some more control over who gets to connect to

Changes in tonights snapshot
There are a couple of noteworthy changes in tonight's snapshot: 1. New UsePAM directive There is a new sshd_config directive, UsePAM for systems built using "configure --with-pam". This allows one to switch off all PAM calls from sshd. This is handy if one builds with PAM but wants to use the sshd's ability to run as a non-root user. Previously this was impossible if one

3.6 portable ready.
The Cray and tru64 patches I have, have been applied. Unless there is any major "oh my god it does not work". I believe 3.6 should now be ready for release soon. I'd like to thank everyone for providing feedback on the status of their their platform. Hopefully, we have not missed any platform that is commonly used. - Ben

Sending immediate PAM auth failure messages via kbd-int
Hi. One thing that people seem to want to do with PAM is to deny a login immediately without interacting but return a message to the user. (Some platforms implement, eg, /etc/nologin via PAM this way.) Currently, sshd will just deny the login and the user will not be told why. Attached it a patch that return a keyboard-interactive packet with the message in the "instruction"

Resident keys?
Hello, I?m trying out the ?resident key? functionality in OpenSSH 8.2, and I?m having trouble getting it to find keys that I?ve created. I?m trying to create a new resident key using: ssh-keygen -O resident -t ed25519-sk -f <filename> This creates a key, but I?m not actually sure it is creating a ?resident? key, as when I try to dump out the resident keys with either ?ssh-keygen -K?

Regression tests (again)
Hi. I'd like to start merging the changes required to make Portable's regression tests portable. I'll keep the changes as small as possible (if they get merged back into OpenBSD, great, but if not I still think they're worth having working in Portable). You can see the kind of changes required at [1]. I will take the responsibility of keeping the regress/ in sync between
