openssh-1.2pre16 patch to pty.c for Solaris 2.6
Greetings, While attempting to build openssh for Solaris 2.6, I ran into a minor problem that should probably be corrected in the next release of openssh. The file pty.c does not #include <stropts.h> to define I_PUSH even though I_PUSH is used when HAVE_DEV_PTMX is defined. Platform: SunOS test01 5.6 Generic_105181-16 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60 Using: zlib 1.1.3

[PATCH] isatty(): use TCGETS instead of TIOCGPGRP, like dietlibc does
Does ctrl+c work? My experience with (non klibc) init=/bin/bash is that getting ctrl+c to work requires some jumping through hoops, because running as pid 1 doesn't really work. If I recall correctly you have to call setsid, and open a tty as a controlling tty, you can't call setsid as pid 1. The hack that I got to work (for reference, I'm using this for raw kernel testing

[PATCH] isatty(): use TCGETS instead of TIOCGPGRP, like dietlibc does
I guess what I wanted to say is that it might be desirable to have the klibc shell do some dancing (perhaps controlled by some flags, but on by default?) If getpid() == 1 then fork a child, continue in the child, have the parent wait for the child to terminate, then exit child should setsid() close(2) close(1) close(0) open("/dev/ttyS0", O_RDONLY) open("/dev/ttyS0",

Porting to Dynix 4.1.3...
Hello there, I am trying to build OpenSSH on the above (very old) version of unix. With a bit of hacking, I have managed to get everything to compile and run. Scp works fine however when I log in via ssh I end up with a session without a controlling terminal. I have followed the code in pty_make_controlling_tty and it seems to go as follows: 1. Starts with a controlling tty. 2. setsid works,

Hanging ssh sessions with openssh-5.1p1 and Solaris 8 & 10

[patch] sshd with re-exec disabled causes stdin to get closed.
I ran into a bug while testing 3.9p1. If you start sshd with -r (re-exec disabled), once the daemon is forked to handle a client, the child closes stdin by accident. This causes FD 0 to get re-used by the next open call which eventually you end up with a mess. In the perticual case I saw, the pty fd ended up on FD 0 was closed by do_exec_pty(), pty_make_controlling_tty() then opened a new ttyfd

[PATCH] PAM chauthtok + Privsep
Hello All. Attached is an update to my previous patch to make do_pam_chauthtok and privsep play nicely together. First, a question: does anybody care about these or the password expiration patches? Anyway, the "PRIVSEP(do_pam_hauthtok())" has been moved to just after the pty has been allocated but before it's made the controlling tty. This allows the child running chauthtok to

[PATCH]: Cygwin port of 2.2.0p1
Attached is the patch for the Cygwin port of 2.2.0p1. As usual I didn't attach the patch to `configure' but only the patch to `configure.in'. BTW: I have attached a gzip'd version of the patch since it's size is > 20K and I thought that it might be too big. The gzip'd diff is < 8K. Slackware 4.0: wtmp and pty.c problems
Hello all, I use a Slackware 4.0 based system (libc5 based, with glibc2.07 runtime support). I've configured OpenSSH using: ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc/ssh --without-pam --with-default-path=/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbi n:/sbin NOTE: yes, --with-default-path DOES work, since pre24 (pre 22 did not) When I try to compile OpenSSH-1.2.1pre25 (or pre24 or pre22), I

Patch for systems with no setreuid()
Sorry if I'm duplicating an existing patch, but... On systems with no seteuid() that have setreuid() there is an emulation, but if both are lacking (but we do have setresuid()), nothing is done. The following seems to be right, but I've only got one machine (running an ancient version of HP-UX) which needs this so it may not be general: --cut-here-- --- config.h.in.orig Thu Jun 7

Process.setsid for Windows
Hi, Just thinking about the possibility of a Process.setsid for Windows. Would a Process.setsid analogue for Windows be a matter of calling CreateProcess() with CREATE_NEW_PROCESS_GROUP + DETACHED_PROCESS ? And raise an error instead if the current process is the process group leader? Regards, Dan

Question on SSH_ASKPASS
Hi everybody, I have asked a question a long time ago regarding SSH_ASKPASS, but with the latest version of OpenSSH I am not able to get the desired result. My goal is to launch a script on a remote server via SSH without having to type a password, because it is locally executed from a script. This should not be too complicated, but somehow I am not able to figure this out myself. I have
