openssh (fwd)
Some people on the OpenSSH list have expressed an interest in Kerberos version 5 support. Below is a (non-US) URL recently posted for a patch to OpenSSH to work with Heimdal, the international K5 implementation. I haven't checked to see if the patch would work with MIT or MIT-derived K5 libraries. -- Mike Fisk, RADIANT Team, Network Engineering Group, Los Alamos National Lab See

SSHD does not cleanup kerberos ticket while root logins
Hi all, It looks like a bug for me, but I'd like to ask if someone has the same problem. We are using OpenSSH 4.3p2 from Debian 4.0 (stable), but the same problem is with original OpenSSH 4.3p2. When root logins with his kerberos ticket and then logout, his ticket remains on the machine. I found in source (sshd.c) in privsep_postauth function, that if root logins then use_privsep is set to 0

OpenSSH and Heimdal KRB5
Has anyone have patches to allow OpenSSH to use Heimdal Kerberos? I suspect the patches <http://www.ics.muni.cz/scb/devel/heimdal.html> against SSH 1.2 could likely be easily adapted for use with OpenSSH. Has anyone already done this? I'm willing to test and may, if time permits, even do the port of the above patches. Kurt

Curious about final KRB5/GSSAPI patch inclusion.
What is the target version for all the KRB5 bits to be in place. I know there is very much in place right now, but I remember someone mentioning there was just a GSSAPI/MITKRB5 patch being waited for. TIA. -- Austin Gonyou Systems Architect, CCNA Coremetrics, Inc. ipportfw - security
Hi Are there any known security holes or necessary precautions in using port forwarding with ipportfw? I'm planning on forwarding ports from an outer firewall/router (connected to the Internet) to a host in the DMZ, then on from the DMZ host to the inner firewall, and finally from the inner firewall to some host on the inside. AD, ACLs on LDAP objects not replicated?
Hi all, Playing with delegation today we delegated rights to some user on some OU and its contents for it can modify users inside that OU and children. We used "advanced view" in ADUC then "properties" on our delegated OU, then "security" tab, and finally we gave rights to our user. Perhaps this process is not correct but we believe it is a valid process to delegate

Local Administrators (group) and delegation in AD
I'm thick :D I don't really understand more :( Samba can share file, printers and when samba hosts a domain samba is also acting as a users database. All that can be managed from Windows side or Linux side. Delegation on Windows is quiet well documented I expect by Microsoft itself and in the Samba Wiki. According to that I expect your question is about how to delegate Samba management
