winbind - New DOMAIN but old DOMAIN not CHANGING .URGENT
Hi, We just imported (moved) all our staff from the old w2k domain to the new w2k3 domain. Say their accounts and passwords From STAFF domain to say NEW. Seems winbind is keeping the old domain users. I'm using winbind for squid auth on Mandrake linux 10.0 samba-client-3.0.10-0.1.100mdk samba-winbind-3.0.10-0.1.100mdk samba-doc-3.0.10-0.1.100mdk samba-common-3.0.10-0.1.100mdk

URGENT winbind - New DOMAIN but old DOMAIN not CHANGING - Resent
Hi, We just imported (moved) all our staff from the old w2k domain to the new w2k3 domain. Say their accounts and passwords From STAFF domain to say NEW. Seems winbind is keeping the old domain users. This server was serving the STAFF domain w/o problems before users were migrated. Domain is in 2000 native mode. I'm using winbind for squid auth on Mandrake linux 10.0

How can I use "puppet apply" with hiera?
I''m running Puppet v2.7.14. I have a puppet master server with Hiera and it works great. I also want to be able to apply my manifests locally on a node. I have installed Hiera on my node and I can verify using the Hiera command line application that values can be looked up: user@tag5-4-qa-sjc:~$ hiera corp_puppet_server region=northamerica datacenter=sjc environment=qa --debug DEBUG:

Feature Request: also report LocalPort in logs
I'm currently trying to set up a kind of vhost, using a second LocalPort; I notice that this isn't reported in auth.log yet, thus this feature request. Thanks!

OpenSSH on Windows, ssh cannot |bind()| localport to port < 1023
Hi! ---- I'm doing some testing with the ssh client OpenSSH on Windows 10 (10.0-19045) but due to firewall restrictions I need to run my experiments from a local port < 1024 (not negotiable). I thought that this was no problem... but ssh |bind()| fails with "address in use" (yes, I checked netstat, no one is there) for any port < 1023. Then I checked $ netstat # and $ netsh

[PATCH] controlling remote port forwarding over control path
Hi, the attached patch implements adding and canceling of remote port forwardings by communicating with a running ssh client via a control socket. Thus, one can do this: ssh -MNfS ~/.ssh/ctl remotehost and then: ssh -S ~/.ssh/ctl -O add-rforward 2000:forward:80 localhost to add a new remote forwarding or ssh -S ~/.ssh/ctl -O cancel-rforward localhost:2000 localhost to remove it. Idea: reverse socks proxy
Hi, Just a usecase that I'm sure has been covered before but just in case its not an openssh solution would be very helpful. I was trying to install software on a server that was firewalled so no outbound http connections would work. I was also tunnelling via another server. Outbound ssh connections also were a convenient option. What would have been nice would be a remote version of

ssh(1) documentation for -L and -R
I found that the documentation for -L and -R was hard to understand. So I made some changes to try to make it clearer. I started with Revision 1.328 from http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/usr.bin/ssh/ssh.1 Comments welcome. ================ ssh.1.patch ================ --- ssh.1 2012/09/15 16:08:48 1.1 +++ ssh.1 2012/09/15 20:23:35 @@ -51,13 +51,13 @@ .Op Fl F Ar configfile .Op Fl I

Solaris 2.5.1 dirname() bug in libgen.a affects OpenSSH2.9.9p2 auth.c
I've discovered a problem with OpenSSH 2.9.9p2 under Solaris 2.5.1 . In auth.c, secure_filename() walks upwards toward the user's home directory or the filesystem root, verifying that no directories along the way are group or world writable. Solaris 2.5.1's dirname() function has a bug where dirname("/.ssh") returns an empty string instead of "/". This causes

Config file semantics change intentional?
In 2.3.0, the per-user config file was read before the system-wide config file, so options set in ~/.ssh/config took precedence over system-wide defaults. In 2.9.9, the system-wide file seems to be read first, contrary to the man page (cf. ssh.c ll. 631-632). It seems to me that the old behaviour made more sense. (I discovered the change because I could not override a "ForwardX11"
