LDAP issues with 3.8.1p1
Hello,
I have recently compiled and installed release 3.8.1p1. This was done
on a Solaris 8 system using LDAP as its naming service. The new
release, however, will not let me log in (as a regular user). I
repeatedly get "Permission denied, please try again" messages. The root
user, though, can log in okay. The same thing happened with the 3.7.1p2
release. The 3.6.1p1 release

Public Key Authentication Bug
Greetings all.
I usually don't get involved in the mailing lists unless it is of a major
importance. Here is a new problem that came up with the 3.3.p1 version, which I
already reported to the Mandrake Developers on their RPM build. Basically, it
boils down to this.
In the Priv Seperation Mode or not, the public Key Authentication is
throughly broken on all 3 versions of Keys,

restricing port forwarding ports server-side
I'm curious as to whether or not there is a way to restrict forwarded ports
server side. For instance, I'm running an IRC server and am allowing users
to connect via ssh forwarding (so I can take advantange of using openssh's
public key method for authentication). Each client I tell to setup their
~/.ssh/config in a certain way, but the relevant line is:

openssh and pam_ldap
An observation and a question on the new version of OpenSSH. With
previous version of OpenSSH, using something like pam_ldap to
authenticate users against an LDAP directory worked great, however with
3.8p1 this is no longer the case. If I try to log into a machine with
an account under "LDAP's control", I always get password failures.
However, using an account with a ssh key

Van Dyke's Public Key Assistant
Jeff Van Dyke's "Public Key Assistant subsystem" was previously discussed
here: (end of a short thread)

I do see a few comments that seem to point out his arrogance and some
disgust about OpenBSD's RCSID, but has anybody found it to be unsecure or if
it was bug ridden. The subject sorta dies right

Openssh for Windows
Is there a OpenSSH server version for Windows 2003 Server? The only
OpenSSH server for Windows I found is version v3.8.1p1-1. However, this
is ONLY supported on Windows NT.
Is there any other openware SSH Server for Windows 2003 Server?

OpenSSL ENIGNE support for OpenSSH
Hi all,
attached is a patch that enables using hardware crypto accelerators
available through OpenSSL library for SSH operations. Especially in
ssh/sshd it can bring a significant speed improvement. OTOH if no crypto
engine is available, nothing bad happens and default software crypto
routines are used.
This patch is used in SUSE Linux OpenSSH package and proved to work (at
least it didn't

SSH ?
I have a FTP server behind my firewall. Thanks to Tom
it works. Next I would like protect the username and
password. With out a firewall. I would just create a
SSH user on the firewall and connect. I think the
easiest way is to do this is to forward port 22 to my
ftp server.
Is there a way to have the firewall handle the ssh
session and forward the rest of the packet to the ftp
server. This

ssh-keyscan: xmalloc out of memory error
hi all,
I got "xmalloc: out of memory" when i used
ssh-keyscan to a remote host that is using
SSH protocol 2 and only protocol 2 (no fallback
to SSH protocol 1).
Looks to me more like ssh-keyscan doesn't talk
SSH protocol 2 to the server.
Please help.
Here is the exact error:
# /usr/local/bin/ssh-keyscan -v miad_1
# miad_1 SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_3.0.2p1

AIX and 2.1.1p1
The new login code works fine with AIX 4.3. Two nits, though. If
--disable-lastlog is defined, the code still tries to slog through wtmp
to determine the last login time. Is this a bug or a feature? If a
feature, change the DISABLE_LASTLOG test below to WITH_AIXAUTHENTICATE.
Also, a small typo in configure.in, plus an AIX tweak.

what actually uses xdr_mem.c?
In regards to FreeBSD-SA-03:05.xdr, does anyone know which static binaries
or tools under /bin or /sbin actually use that problem code?
The recent XDR fixes the xdrmem_getlong_aligned(),
xdrmem_putlong_aligned(), xdrmem_getlong_unaligned(),
xdrmem_putlong_unaligned(), xdrmem_getbytes(), and/or xdrmem_putbytes()
functions, but it is difficult to know what uses these (going backwards
manually).

Sftp slow on both our centos installs
The short version.
Copying over SFTP to our centos boxes maxes out at 2MB a sec.
The Question:
Is there some sort of speed limitation somewhere in the ssh/sftp daemon?
Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening?
The long version
We have centos 4.6 installed on 2 different machines, different
hardware, different nics. Even on 2 different subnets.
I've tried different switches,

[LLVMdev] [PATCH][REQUEST] Could someone submit this CSR Kalimba definitions patch please?
Hello LLVMdev!!
Yesterday I posted a patch request to the llvm-commits list requesting
that someone could apply a patch to Triple.h and Triple.cpp for me. I
didn't get any response so I wondered whether I should have posted to
this list instead.
My story is as follows: we are trying to get lldb/llvm support for CSRs
range of Kalimba DSPs. Eventually we are planning to hire someone to

Excuse me for being ignorant, but what is ssh.exe? A win32
