SSHD logging on Solaris 8?
Hi Eric, logging is configured in sshd_config with - # Logging # obsoletes QuietMode and FascistLogging SyslogFacility AUTH LogLevel INFO - where 'SyslogFacility' specifies which "facility" (sorry;-), i.e. e.g. 'auth', 'daemon', 'mail' etc should be used and with 'LogLevel' you can specify how verbosely sshd should be. Of course the

patched tarballs
Hello everyone, As some of you may know, I maintain a patch that puts a '.' chroot hack into OpenSSH. Unfortunately users seem to have had trouble applying the patch. This is because I use gnu's patch and diff and many systems come with a patch and diff that doesn't seem to understand -u or -N. Anyway... the point of this email is to ask if anyone had any objections to me

Key comment to syslog on login
Hello, Firstly thankyou for developing openssh - it is a great tool. Secondly I'm not subscribed to this list - sorry! It would be helpful to log the key comment to syslog when logging in using private key authentication. At the moment I get. Nov xx xx:xx:xx hostname sshd[pid]: Accepted publickey for root from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port xxxxx ssh2 If this could be changed to log the key comment

((AllowUsers || AllowGroups) && !(AllowUsers && AllowGroups))
Hey everyone, After discussing the AllowGroups I think I've discovered a bug. The system is a solaris 8 system and the problem is that when I use AllowGroups with no AllowUsers args, the proper actions happen. Same with AllowUsers and no AllowGroups. When I try to combine the two, none of the Allow directives seem to take. Is it just me or maybe a bug? -James

Updated version of patch
Attached is a patch against shout-python-0.2 which does two trivial but very useful things (1) The function "get_connected" is exported so that shout-python becomes usable in nonblocking mode. In the current version of shout-python "open" raises an exception in nonblocking mode. (2) The global interpreter lock is released in the potentially blocking functions

Question regarding lmer with binary response
Dear all, dear Prof. Bates, my dependent variable (school absenteeism, truancy[1]) is a binary response for which I am trying to compute an unconditional mixed effects model. I've got observations (monday, wednesday and friday) nested in individuals (ID2), which were nested in classes (KID2) and schools (SID), i.e. a 4-level mixed effects model. In short, I was trying without success. I

ggplot2 ordering in a faceted dotplot.
am trying to produce two dot plot figures in ggplot2. So far the first one (p) in the program below is working fine. However when I want to move to a faceted plot (p1) I seem to lose my ordering or, more likely, I'm just getting an ordering I am not expecting and I always have trouble understanding ordering in R! What I would like is the 2011 panel to be ordered in descending order as is

Samba from Sunfreeware and nss_winbind.so
Sunfreeware.com has compiled packages of Samba 3.4.2 with kerberos and ldap support included (if you also install the ldap and kerberos packages from sunfreeware.) However it does not include the nss_winbind.so.* or libnss_winbind.so.* files. Solaris does include nss_winbind.so already (since it is included with Samba 3.0.x) or I could compile it from the 3.4.x source code. But then I

Samba 64 bit compilation
Which platform? If on Solaris 10 sparc, GCC (either from Sun or sunfreeware.com) should be 64-bit by default. GCC from Sunfreeware for Solaris 10 x86 will compile 32-bit by default. For Solaris, you are better off using Sun Studio and Dmake. Actually, you are better off just using the compiled version from Oracle/Sun. On 06/13/12 02:08, prabu.murugan at emc.com wrote: > Hi, > >

SAMBA4 and Solaris 10 X86
hello, I have been trying to build/get SAMBA4 alpha13/alpha11 to build on Solaris 10 Update 8 X86. I have tried to use the ./autogen-waf and the other ./autogen and following the procedure ./configure(.developer) seems to conclude correctly, however the actual make and make install seems to fail. I need to make sure first, is Samba4 supported on Solaris? thanks /ayman

Install rubygems error
I made the mistake of trying to upgrade to 1.8.4 from 1.8.2 and had intended to upgrade to rails 1.1. I have now completely borked my ruby gems installation. After installing ruby I get the following error when trying to execute gem: /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:21:in `require__'': no such file to load -- zlib (LoadError) from

OpenSSH 3.4p1 "PRNG is not seeded"
I upgraded from OpenSSH_3.0.2p1 to OpenSSH 3.4p1. Starting SSHD or ssh-keygen I'm getting the "PRNG is not seeded". I have verified that prngd is running and "egc.pl /var/spool/prngd/pool get" runs just fine reporting 32800 bits of entropy. My platform is Solaris 8 (sparc) and I downloaded binaries from www.sunfreeware.com. My guess is the build of OpenSSH 3.4.p1 is

Need help compiling Samba on Solaris
I had limited success compiling 3.4.8 and 3.5.4 on Solaris 10 8/07 x86. I downloaded the source code from Samba.org and the dependencies from sunfreeware.com. After some googling and trial and error with the LDDFLAGS, CPPFLAGS and such, it sort of compiled. I need to know how to properly set things up. How can I find out what version of dependencies you need for a particular samba version?
