Cannot compile openssh-3.5.p1 on Irix 6.5.15 with kerberos4
Hi, I have the following problem. I think it's arising from the fact, that DES algorithms are fetched from libcrypto and not from libdes anymore. But, some types still clash. I use krb4-1.2.1 from http://www.pdc.kth.se/kth-krb cc -O2 -n32 -TARG:platform=IP22 -OPT:Olimit=0 -I/usr/local/include -I/software/@sys/usr/include -I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.0/include -I/usr/local/openssl/include

FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL(2007) patches
Hi, I am happy to (re)send a set of patches for compiling OpenSSH 4.7p1 with FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL. These are based on previously reported patches by Steve Marquess <marquess at ieee.org> and Ben Laurie <ben at algroup.co.uk>, for ver. OpenSSH 3.8. Note that these patches are NOT OFFICIAL, and MAY be used freely by anyone. Issues [partially] handled: SSL FIPS Self test. RC4,

patch adding none cipher/mac for ssh v2
Below is a patch that adds the ability to have a none cipher and mac for protocol version 2. By default, sshd will not allow these to be used; an admin will have to explicitly allow them in the Ciphers and MACs section of sshd_config. Additionally, the client will not use these unless explicitly instructed to by the user. The actual name of the cipher is 'none2', to distinguish it

[PATCH] Solaris 10 and missing OpenSSL functions >128bit
Hi all. Solaris 10's default libcrypto does not have support for AES 192 and 256 bit functions. The attached patch, against -current, and based partially on an earlier one by djm, will use OpenSSH's builtin rijndael code for all AES crypto functions and thus will allow it to build and function on Solaris 10 without the extra crypto packages (SUNWcry, SUNWcryr) or a locally built OpenSSL.

evp_aes_<X>_ctr() vs. EVP_aes_<X>_ctr().
Hi. OpenSSH currently has its own implementation of AES in counter mode (cipher-ctr.c). This is probably because it wasn't available in OpenSSL. From what I see now, recent OpenSSL does implement EVP_aes_{128,192,256}_ctr() and it would be nice to use it whenever possible. The gain here is that OpenSSH's version uses software AES implementation and OpenSSL's version will use AES-NI if

cipher_get_keycontext() and cipher_set_keycontext() copying OpenSSL RC4 cryptographic state
These two functions in cipher.c (I have looked at openssh5.8p1 & openssh5.9p1) copy the internal cryptographic state of an OpenSSL RC4 encryption/decryption context using simple memcpy(). This code also copies the state when evptype is EVP_acss, which I am unfamiliar with. This code appears to works fine when using the builtin crypto of OpenSSL 1.0.0d. However, I have been doing some work

PXE Network installs
Peter- I am working on developing a system to perform network boot and automated system installs of many systems, and I would like to use PXE. New systems would boot via PXE, then directed to special images that partition, format and install the server. Upon reboot, the system would boot off of local disk. Do you know of any resources, or of anyone that has begun to develop an infrastructure

callerid name inboune from PRI
I switched PRI vendors recently, and one of my questions was "do you provide caller ID name in addition to number?" AT&T Local did not, But XO communications said they did. Before I call to complain, is there an setting to turn this on in asterisk? I want to make sure that I have my side covered before I call XO. My current zaptel.conf is: context=from-pstn switchtype=national

scp fails with openssh 3.4p1 cywin release
Two Windows 2k cygwin machines running openssh 3.4p1 results in the following failures 1 - scp -p failes with error "protocol error: atime.usec not delimited" 2 - an scp of a pdf file results in a corrupt copy. My guess is that this is due to cr/lf translations. Once it failed on one file I didn't try other since I don't trust it. Imaging away / flick -------------- next
