immediate "gotcha" in compilation!? 6.6p1 versus openssl 1.0.1g
So they released openssl 101g to patch for a hole. One then wishes to
recompile openssh.
After ".configure" I get this:
synergy[124]# make
if test "doc" = "cat"; then manpage=./`echo scp.1.out | sed
's/\.[1-9]\.out$/\.0/'`; else manpage=./`echo scp.1.out | sed

IPv6, ULAs and FreeBSD
Hello,
I already consulted related lists @freebsd.org [1,2] but I have remained
unsuccessful to solve the following issue: VPN works for an internal
IPv4 subnet, but I doesn't for an internal IPv6 subnet with ULAs. To be
honest, I don't have any experience setting up a local IPv6; so I guess
that I'm doing something wrong here.
For those that know FreeBSD: The main aim is to connect

xVM and zones not co-existing happily
Hi all,
I installed 2009.06, xVM and happily installed a domU with no issues. I just did this through the virt-manager GUI, and kept it as simple as possible.
Later I installed and booted a zone with very simple and standard configuration.
My existing xVM virtual machine did not immediately stop working, or have any interruption at all. But, I can no longer create new virtual machines, or even

winbindd fails to start
I am testing samba-4.19 on FreeBSd-14.1 and am getting this error in the
log.wb-<DOMAIN> file:
../../source3/winbindd/winbindd_dual.c:1965(winbindd_sig_term_handler)
I suspect that this may caused by an ip4 address assignment clash as I am using
the configuration and data structures copied from our running Samba-4.13 DC.
When I run winbindd interactively I see this:

wins.dat keeps coming back with bad information
I recently reconfigured a box running FreeBSD 5.3 with Samba v. 3.0.7
running as PDC. It was servicing 2 networks, processing logons for
192.168.200.0/24 and 192.168.115.0/24. The reason for 2 networks was
security, 115.0/24 had some stuff on it that the users on 200.0/24
shouldn't have access to. Before the reconfiguration, the system was
working 100%.
To make everything better I flattened

program-prefix does not work
the configure option --program-prefix does not work although it is
listed in teh configure --help output.
The attached patch fixes these issues:
1) program prefix is not substituted in configure
2) program prefix is not present in Makefile
3) scp requires use of a known "scp" program
