TinyMCE / Spellcheck integration with rails
Just wanted to post a link to my blog about how I integrated TinyMCE''s aspell based spell checker into Ruby on Rails. The default configuration required PHP so I rolled my own. http://www.gusto.com/mike/blog/post202 I think it works great and you can try it out on our review pages, comment pages and blog pages on http://www.gusto.com/ Cheers Mike Engelhart http://www.gusto.com/mike

Turning off spell checker in TextCtrl
Hi, I''m running WxRuby2 on Mac OS X. Something is spell checking the text that I put into it; words it doesn''t recognize get an annoying red line under them. How can I turn the spell checker off? Thanks, Paul

Agent spell checker behavior
Howdy, I've got an interesting behavior change in Agent in Wine as compared to Agent in Windows. (And it doesn't have to do with the Clipboard ;-) When I spell check an email in Agent(Windows), and I get a word not found, I get a window that shows the not found word with a highlighted suggested correction. When I spell check an email in Agent(Wine) the same thing happens except the

Integrating R in OpenOffice
Hi All, A group of about 3-4 of us are looking into the possibility of incorporating R into OpenOffice's (OO) spreadsheet component (sc) . We wish to use OO's nice ODBC ability to query a postgresql-based gene expression database thus populating an OO sc and then use Bioconductor via R to analyse user-selected parts of this spreadsheet. We've looked at and compiled and used

OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 vs. 2.0.2
Hi, I recently migrated from Slackware 10.2 to CentOS 4.3, upon advice of fellow Slacker and CentOS user Daniel de Kok. Been working very intensively for the last three weeks with it, and I must say: I really like it. This is the Real Work(tm) Distro I was always looking for! There's a practical reason for this: beginning on June 1st I will be chief sysadmin of our village's town hall.

openoffice
Since rpm from openoffice.org was not nicely integrate with Centos, what is the best way to make OO uptodate, can i use (or depend on) package from fedora (it slightly outdate but not too far from OO release). Having see the huge spec file (around 3700 lines), building it ourself is really not fun :( --beast

Thunderbird: can't seem to install french spell checker
Hi, I can't install a french spell checker in Thunderbird. There's a link in Thunderbird's preferences, to download new dictionaries, but it's dumb. So I downloaded the dictionary manually (spell-FR.xpi) and installed it in Thunderbird using the 'Extensions' dialog. But the installed dictionary doesn't appear anywhere. Googled some over this problem, and it seems

Serious bug in OpenOffice.org Calc shipped with CentOS
Hi, Until now I've been a happy user of CentOS. Everything just works(tm), and I don't care if application versions are slightly outdated. Next week I have to give a series of classes for a company that recently made the switch to Linux. On schedule is a one-week course for Writer and Calc. And right now I discover that one crucial function of Calc, "fill series",

Weird problems with OpenOffice
Hi: 1. Samba PDC and OpenOffice: I've an strange problem with OpenOffice (2.3 and 2.4) and Samba as PDC (Debian version 3.0.24-6etch10): I have a Windows XP Professional (SP3) connected to a Samba PDC. When I click on a document located in my desktop, OO seems to freeze for more than one minute, and then it loads the document. If I try to load more documents, they load normally. But,

[OT] R-project.Borg?
A few moments ago I used Mozilla Thunderbird to send an email message that contained a forwarded message sent from an R-project.org address. The spell checker flagged this phrase as a potential spelling error and offered the replacement "R-project.Borg". If it wasn't that Mozilla is another Open Source project, I would think this indicated paranoia. P.S. I do realize that the

Winlink Airmail Help
Hello All. I was running Winlink Airmail fine for several months. Somewhere between up grading Wine and Xubuntu I lost the ability to see what I was typing when writing a new e-mail. The text is there but it cannot be seen. If I miss spell and use the spell checker it will appear. When the spell checker is finished the printing disappears again. This is a built-in spell checker in Airmail.

OpenOffice 3.3.0 crashing on CentOS 5.5
The last few releases of OpenOffice have gotten very unstable on my desktop which is a CentOS 5.5 i386 system. After multiple crashes when doing embedded simple drawings in OpenOffice writer (circles and lines with connections), I started using the versions from Sun then Oracle. I am now using version 3.3: openooffice.org3-3.3.0-9567. I've lived with this but with version 3.x it has gotten

R CMD check --as-cran and (a)spell checking
Does anyone know if it is possible to add a dictionary file of known words that becomes part of the *built* package to tell 'R CMD check --as-cran' not to report these words as misspelled. I want this dictionary to come with the *.tar.gz such that it will be available regardless where the package is checked. For instance, currently I get: * using log directory

(OT) OpenOffice.org calc chart strangeness.
I am attempting to create a simple line chart graphing three columns from a soffice-calc spreadsheet. I expect it to take the leftmost column as the X-Axis, plotting the others on the Y-Axis, but it always creates an X-Axis of the row number in the columns, and the first column amongst the data. I have tried this on OpenOffice.org 3.2.0, NeoOffice(R) 3.0.2 Patch 2, iWork Pages, and Excel 12.2.4

OpenOffice.org package for 7.0/i386?
Hi all, Does anyone know where I can find an OpenOffice.org package for 7.0R on i386? I can only find amd64 packages on ftp.freebsd.org and good-day.net. I will try building it myself but I'm stuck on an old machine with limited RAM at the moment, I don't think I've ever had an oo.org build succeed on this box... :-( Thanks, Scott --
