[PATCH] __func__ and __FUNCTION__ in configure script
Hi everybody, I'm Kris.
A little background: I've been contributing to Nmap for over a year, and
am an SoC student for it this summer.
But on to the patch..
Currently:
__func__ and __FUNCTION__ are checked for in the configure script, but
if one or the other doesn't exist, it is changed in defines.h.
Patched:
They are both still checked for in configure, but this is done in

ssh hangs or gives Segmentation fault
Details of installation attached.
Effect: when I build and test (with full path names) ssh in the openssh...
directory, everything works fine. When I "install" it as per attached file
into a test-directory and run it from there, there are 2 phenomena:
either it just hangs, eating 96% of CPU
or it dies with a Segmentation fault (this is what happens most often)

openssh-3.4p1.tar.gz on ftp.openbsd.org changing rather than frozen
I have seen that file
ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/OpenSSH/portable/openssh-3.4p1.tar.gz
is continuosly changing.
This seems strange to me as I expected it should be a 'frozen' file;
The signature and diff file are still dated Jun 26.
I am wondering whether this is intentional.
Best regards,
Wojtek

OpenSSH 3.4p1 hostbased authentication
Hi,
We want to use Hostbased Authentication in OpenSSH 3.4p1 completely based on
rhosts or shosts. Don't want to have any keys exchange between server and
client.
Created /etc/ssh/sshd_config on OpenSSH server with:
RhostsAuthentication yes
IgnoreRhosts no
HostbasedAuthentication yes
Created /etc/ssh/ssh_config on client with:
Host *
HostbasedAuthentication yes
Created /etc/rhosts.equiv,

tru64 unix openssh-3.4p1 problems
Hi,
I'm attempting to get openssh-3.4p1 up and running on our DEC/Compaq
Alpa workstations.
They are running Tru64 Unix 5.1A. I compile the package myself.
Openssh-3.1 worked perfectly, with the default sshd_config file.
Openssh-3.4p1 works, if I set UsePrivilegeSeparation to "no" in the
sshd_config file.
NOTE: I have a secondary issue with the ListenAddress default setting

Patch to OpenSSH-3.4p1/monitor_mm.c for Linux 2.0
I had to modify the file monitor_mm.c to get the privledge separation to
work for Linux 2.0.36 (and above) and am passing on the patch to you; if
there is a better place to send this, please let me know. I've included a
new #define (USE_MMAP_DEV_ZERO) to select this patch, but am not including
the patch to config.h---if there's a better name for it, please, by all
means, change it.

OpenSSH 3.4p1 and OpenSSL
Ladies and Gentlemen;
I have multiple systems where all I
can find is the OpenSSH 3.4p1 installed without the OpenSSL libraries. I
have other systems that have OpenSSH3.4p1 with OpenSSL 0.9.6e and other systems with OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 and OpenSSL 0.9.7b installed.
I am trying to respond to the following IAVA CERT Advisory CA-2003-26 Multiple Vulnerabilities in

OpenSSH 3.4p1 "PRNG is not seeded"
I upgraded from OpenSSH_3.0.2p1 to OpenSSH 3.4p1. Starting SSHD or
ssh-keygen I'm getting the "PRNG is not seeded".
I have verified that prngd is running and "egc.pl /var/spool/prngd/pool get"
runs just fine reporting 32800 bits of entropy.
My platform is Solaris 8 (sparc) and I downloaded binaries from
www.sunfreeware.com.
My guess is the build of OpenSSH 3.4.p1 is

OS/390 openssh
Hello Steve, Hello OpenSSH-portable developers,
I am building OpenSSH for our (EBCDIC-based) BS2000 mainframe
operating system, and I noticed you do the same for OS/390.
Because my initial ssh port was based on IBM's OSS port (ssh-1.2.2
or some such), I thought it was fair enough to help with a little
co-operation; we might come up with a unified EBCDIC patch which could
be contributed to

memory leak problem using openssh 3.4p1-263 ons Suse (SLES 8)
Hello,
Whenever copying files using ssh (scp) from SLES 8 (openssh 3.4p1-263) to another box (e.g SLES 8, Solaris 8, Windows XP), the memory of the initial SLES 8 box gets depleted. To make sure this is true I use the free command whilst copying and see that the used memory reaches 90 / 100%. After the copying is finished this memory is never released. No memory tool can tell me what happened

upgrade from 2.2p1 to 3.4p1
Hi,
We are trying to upgrade the openssh version from 2.2p1 to 3.4p1, but
we have found many issues/problems. If somebody could tell us any clue
to solve them, it would be appreciated:
- ssh client version 3.4 seems to be incompatible with sshd 2.2. is
this true or just we have not found the right options at the command line?
- we have thought to solve the previous issue to rename de old ssh to

Building 3.4p1 on HP-UX 11.00, gcc, zlib 1.1.4, OpenSSL 0.9.6d
Hey folks,
I am having a devil of a time compiling 3.4p1 on HP-UX
11.00. I'm running gcc 2.95.2, OpenSSL 0.9.6d, and zlib 1.1.4.
I have two questions, but here's the first... I am getting the dreaded:
*** zlib missing - please install first or check config.log ***
error when running configure, no matter what options I give it.
--with-zlib doesn't help at all - I've tried it

OpenSSH 3.4p1 hostbased auth - howto?
How do you enable hostbased authentication in OpenSSH?
I have two Red Hat 7.3 machines running openssh-3.4p1, and I would like to
be able to ssh from either of the machines to the other, as any user,
without using passwords or per-user keys.
My /etc/ssh/sshd_config contains:

IgnoreRhosts no
HostbasedAuthentication yes
