[PATCH] virtio-net: Fix DMA-from-the-stack in virtnet_set_mac_address()

rsync as a remote file system protocol?
Does anyone know of an existing facility to access a remote rsync server as a virtual filesystem through gnome-vfs, FUSE, lufs, or similar that supports listing the contents of directories? I have already a bunch of web searches, looked through http://fuse.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/FileSystems, checked my /usr/lib/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/, and checked the list of available KDE kio slaves on

rsync over ssl (again)
A while back, I asked if there had been any consideration in making rsync support direct ssl (as opposed to just ssh). I've been looking around for a secure way (e.g. encrypted, so passwords are never in the clear, and even content is obscured from sniffers) to allow a set of limited-trust users (limited-trust being defined as mostly customers, whom you trust with their own data, but not with

Golang CertChecker hostname validation differs to OpenSSH

restrict file transfer in rsync, scp, sftp?
I am supporting a site that allows members to upload release files. I have inherited this site which was previously existing. The goal is to allow members to file transfer to and from their project area for release distribution but not to allow general shell access and not to allow access to other parts of the system. Currently rsync and old scp has been restricted using a restricted shell

sftp Vs scp

I don't think this is an ideal solution... OpenSSH should be "overall" secure (that's what it's meant for), and especially not be a collection of tools/algos/etc. of which some(!) are

FTPS setup problem
Hi! I'm trying to figure out what's going wrong with a "simple" FTPS setup and VSFTPD. I saw references on Google and tried, and tried, and tried... without success. I'll start by explaining my situation: I have a WEB development server behind a firewall. It's currently only for the intranet. We now have an external company that will have to do a new website

sftp batch mode and password authentication
Hi all, I used to execute ftp in batch mode to dowload files. In my case, password authentication is the only way to get remote access. Could anyone tell me how can i accomplish the same task using sftp under batchmode as what i have done with ftp ? Meanwhile, how can i specify the password securely ? Is there anyother alternatives ? -- Thanks M.P

[LLVMdev] Clang + SAFECode Release Announcement
Dear All, We have a new release of Clang with SAFECode technology for detecting memory safety errors. Memory safety checking (SAFECode for short) can be turned on with a single command line switch to clang/clang++. The SAFECode techniques do not change the behavior of the clang/clang++ compilers in any way when the switch is turned off, so this can be used as a drop-in replacement for

[LLVMdev] Clang + SAFECode Release Announcement
John, The release source code (sc-main.tar) won't compile cleanly under Debian6-i386 (gcc/g++: 4.4.5). The compiler back trace is attached. Please fix it/them and repost. Or, 64b system is a requirement? Thank you Chuck llvm[4]: Compiling TypeRuntime.cpp for Release+Asserts build (PIC) cc1plus: warnings being treated as errors

[LLVMdev] Clang + SAFECode Release Announcement
Hi, My apologies for the trouble. I've disabled building DynamicTypeChecks for now (r138224) and now it builds cleanly on 32bit for me here. As for SAFECode support for 32bit vs 64bit, I believe 32bit should work just fine although I haven't personally tested this. Let me know if you have any further issues/questions. ~Will On Sun, Aug 21, 2011 at 9:26 AM, Chuck Zhao <czhao at

[LLVMdev] build on windows
Hi, I have tried to compile LLVM with Visual C++. Some subprojects work now. Other subprojects require the file "configure.lib". So I tried to compile the project "Configure". It could be built successfully, but the file "configure.lib" is not generated. So, what is the problem here ? Can somebody help me to fix that ? Thanks and regards Quang

Using Samba to share Apache web root, securely
I'm setting up a shared web server running Apache. Each web root will belong to a department, which has a corresponding Active Directory group to give access. So far I've got samba working and such, but am having some trouble wrapping my head around the necessary permissions to make all this work, especially securely. So far I've found that both the POSIX and the ACL permissions

Unifying CMake variable names used in checks across subprojects
We've been using the runtimes build for a while now and we're very happy with it. However, with an increasing number of targets, it can be fairly slow and I have noticed that we now spend more time in CMake than in Ninja. There are various ways we could improve things like eliminating unnecessary checks. When running checks like check_c_compiler_flag, check_cxx_compiler_flag or

[RFC] One or many git repositories?
Dear all, I would like to (re-)open a discussion on the following specific question: Assuming we are moving the llvm project to git, should we a) use multiple git repositories, linked together as subrepositories of an umbrella repo, or b) use a single git repository for most llvm subprojects. The current proposal assembled by Renato follows option (a), but I think option (b) will be
