Unwanted reverse mapping of ip addresses
Hi SSH developers, I am wondering if someone could help explain a behavior of sshd. From canohost.c, get_remote_hostname(), it seems sshd will always try to reverse lookup the ip address of any client that attaches to it. The verify_reverse_mapping flag just turns off the forward lookup through DNS of the clients hostname, once the hostname has been determined. I am using Solaris 8 with ssh

type=peer vs type=user (depricated?)
I'm looking at setting type=peer vs type=user (in both IAX and SIP conf entries), and I found a comment attributed to digium (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+SIP+user+vs+peer) in 2005 that type=user is depricated and that we should only use type=peer Is that still correct? Will type=user be phased out, and should even new installs of older asterisk versions (eg: 1.6) use

[OpenSSH] sample line about ForwardX11 in ssh_config file is not fit to default setting
Hi OpenSSH developers I use OpenSSH under FreeBSD. It's cool and useful for me. By the way, sample line of ForwardX11 in ssh_config was not fit for default setting in readconf.c. I want to change ssh_config. ---------- In ssh source (src/usr.bin/ssh/readconf.c), currently ForwardX11 is disabled. 731 if (options->forward_x11 == -1) 732

rsh fallback
Hi, Can anyone remind me of why FallbackToRsh was removed? I've just had a somewhat irate Debian bug report about it, and don't really have enough information to respond properly. Thanks, -- Colin Watson [cjwatson at flatline.org.uk]

Oz ISDN
In Australia, Telstra, the local telco provides isdn modem for isdn connection. The modem has 2 analogue telephone jacks and a serial port for connection to dialup internet. My question is that will it be possible to use Zaptel TDM02B to connect to the analogue jack instead of getting a fritz card to do the telephony. Will there be less feature if doing so? -- David Kwok, CISSP Tel: 612

DID/T1
I need clarification as to DID in T1 connection. T1 provides 24 channels for voice/data. Do it assign each channel to particular DID. Or you can have unlimited DID to share the 24 channel as an example. ie. Outgoing/incoming traffic is not bound to particular channel. Whatever is available will be used according to the grouping in zapata.conf. -- David Kwok, CISSP Tel: 612 82315701 ext 1002

have_tag matcher in rspec 2?
I always assumed have_tag was part of rspec, but it''s not in rspec 2, and looking now I don''t see it in rspec 1 either. Webrat defines it, but that seems like a coincidence (I tried requiring webrat/core/matchers to no avail). Is it depricated, not yet implemented, or does it work for everyone else? My project is from scratch, rspec-rails 2b13, using generated spec_helper.

Changes on CVS HEAD
I just installed the latest cvs head and seems a lot of commands haven been depricated. Where can I see the changes on all cvs head versions in order to keep up with the changes needed on my side. I checked the wiki and it still shows all the old commands and no mentions about the changes.

PHP/Samba Authentication w/ tdb files.
Hello, I am working on a web based file system access solution for the company I work for. I need to authenticate users against samba's password database, I found a project called PEAR::File_SMBPasswd that works with the older (and now depricated?) smbpasswd file format, however it fails spectacularly when using it with sambas TDB formatted files. I have googled for the last week trying to

wxWidgets 2.5
I''ve just gotten wxruby-swig to compile with wxWidgets 2.5 on Mac OS X. Thankfully, it mostly consists of getting rid of already depricated methods from the widget classes. I need to try with Linux and Win32, but it should be a smooth transition. Nick
