LDAP Filter Problem
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this one. I am having trouble
getting LDAP and samba working properly on my Debian Woody box. I am using
OpenLDAP 2.0.27-3 and the unsable packaged Samba version 2.999+3.0 and am

Patch for SOCKS4A in OpenSsh
I love SSH's ability to dynamically forward ports using SOCKS (either -D or
DynamicForward) (ie "ssh -D 1081 private.mine.net"). But the thing that has
caused me some pain, is that only SOCKS4 is supported. The SOCKS4 proxy
specification does not permit hostnames, but only IP addresses. This isn't
much of a problem if the target host is a public Internet host or otherwise

ssh_rsa_verify: RSA_verify failed: error:
Host based authentication does not seem to be working for us after
upgrading to openssh-3.4p1 (we were at openssh-3.1p1) (openssl is at
0.96d). Any time we try to connect from another unix box also running
openssh-3.4p1, we get the following error (on the server side) and host
based auth fails (it falls back to password prompt).

File Column Directory Add another layer
Quick Question. I understand how to change the default path to
something other than public but what if I wanted to add another
directory into the equation. I want to upload an image into the
following structure:
/public/image/userid/imageid/test.gif
So basically I want to look up the userid in my users table and put
all the images for that user in the same directory. So i have a one

patch almost works on 5.1A openssh 3.4p1 - get in, but get kicked out (fwd)
Hi-
I applied the privsep patch to Tru64 5.1A openssh 3.4p1 and it
*almost* works.
I get in from the client side and xauth is run, but in the meantime
the server side disconnects. Running sshd in debug mode level 3 gives
the following output:

debug1: session_input_channel_req: session 0 req shell

Therefore I'm hoping that one of you could help me with the following problem.
I've installed Samba 3.0.14a on RedHat 9.0. Samba is working perfectly.

Again: Cannot delete credentials
As has often been mentioned, Solaris (at least 7 and 8) gives a debug1 message
on logout: Cannot delete credentials. This occurs when in auth-pam.c,
function do_pam_cleanup_proc(), pam_setcred(__pamh, PAM_DELETE_CRED) is
called under UID 0. I suggested a patch for this on Nov 22, 2001, based on
openssh 2.9.9p2 through 3.0.1p1. [The attempt in my patch to reset to UID 0

How long to wait for process?
Rather than go to a penalized GLM, you might be better off investigating
the sources of quasi-perfect separation and simplifying the model to
avoid or reduce it. In your data set you have several factors with
large number of levels, making the data sparse for all their combinations.
Like multicolinearity, near perfect separation is a data problem, and is
often better solved by careful
