pks for openssh
I was directed to the following site by one of our customers regarding a keyserver built into openssh. There's a patch for 3.4p1 on their site, but the license isn't very clear, nor is it clear if they have approached the openssh team regarding the inclusion of this subsystem into openssh proper. I've been asked to patch Mandrake's openssh with this feature, but I'm

LDAP issues with 3.8.1p1
Hello, I have recently compiled and installed release 3.8.1p1. This was done on a Solaris 8 system using LDAP as its naming service. The new release, however, will not let me log in (as a regular user). I repeatedly get "Permission denied, please try again" messages. The root user, though, can log in okay. The same thing happened with the 3.7.1p2 release. The 3.6.1p1 release

openssh and pam_ldap
An observation and a question on the new version of OpenSSH. With previous version of OpenSSH, using something like pam_ldap to authenticate users against an LDAP directory worked great, however with 3.8p1 this is no longer the case. If I try to log into a machine with an account under "LDAP's control", I always get password failures. However, using an account with a ssh key

restricing port forwarding ports server-side
I'm curious as to whether or not there is a way to restrict forwarded ports server side. For instance, I'm running an IRC server and am allowing users to connect via ssh forwarding (so I can take advantange of using openssh's public key method for authentication). Each client I tell to setup their ~/.ssh/config in a certain way, but the relevant line is: LocalForward 6667

[Tweaking-Typo-4.0.3] acts_as_ferret `method_missing''
Hey Folks, after following the instructions for tweaking Typo to use rather ferret than DB queries to search article I got a strange NoMethod error when starting the console or the server scripts. /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-1.14.4/lib/active_record/base.rb:1129:in `method_missing'':NoMethodError: undefined method `acts_as_ferret'' for Content:Class As you can

IPv6?
I noticed that samba is listening on IPv6, so I became curious and wondered if I could actually use it, and so far, it looks like it isn't usable. Running nbtstat -A fe80::216:3eff:fe6f:1f3a on Windows returns the stupid message that the address must be in the a.b.c.d format. I then tried using nbtlookup from linux: nmblookup -S -U '[fe80::216:3eff:fe6f:1f3a]' \* 10.1.1.232

Debian Dist: Samba Start/Stop/Restart Script File Missing
Hello. I have installed the samba 2.0 in and in process... I accidently deleted the samba script file that is contained in the init.d for starting, shutting down and restarting the samba services. Can anyone send me the copy of that script so I can put it back in? It is kinda of lame that I did that in the first place. ---------------------------------- Date: 17-Jan-99

Call for testing for 3.5 OpenSSH
OpenBSD tree is heading into a lock and this includes OpenSSH. So we are winding up for a 3.5 release. If we can get people to test the current snapshots and report any problems that would improve the odds that your platform won't be broke for 3.5. Issues I know off of right now. 1. I can't test NeXT. So I TRULY need someone in that community to test for me. Last I heard there was

dfree causing write access problems
Hi I'm having problems with the dfree option on a Solaris 10 fileserver. Specifically: I had 3.0.X on the fileserver and the dfree option worked fine. I upgraded to 3.2.2 and now if dfree is enabled the clients get 1MB reported as the size of the share and when a client tries to right to the system they get told that the filesystem is full. The script output has been tested throughly

pfsync between 8.4 and 9.2
I just started rolling out 9.2 to all our production machnes, which are currently on 8.4. We have tested it pretty throughly internally and are very happy with it, but as part of the deployment have hit a problem. We have a pair of boxes running as a firewall using carp and pfsync. One of the - the 'passive' one - has been upgraded to 9.2, and all works fine as far as carp si concerned,

[LLVMdev] parallel loop metadata question
Will do. I will write something up. Hal, your concern below isn't so much with the proposed semantics but rather with the use - that optimizations must respect the loop for which the metadata applies, correct? Thanks Jon -----Original Message----- From: Hal Finkel [mailto:hfinkel at anl.gov] Sent: Monday, May 05, 2014 4:00 AM To: Tobias Grosser Cc: Pekka Jääskeläinen; Humphreys, Jonathan;
