Rsync hang on HP-UX 10.20
Hi,
We downloaded the latest rsync 2.5.6 source code and compiled it on HP-UX for both 10.20 and 11.x. Rsync runs fine if we run it from the command line on both platforms. But after we put rsync command into a HP Software Distributor package configure script (just a shell script with rsync command in it) and run swinstall, which will get installation bits including the configure script, put the

Re: Does virsh actually work?
Try creating a blank file on the target system at
/mnt/store01/virt/e7f75b9b-9ed4-4f7e-aa86-e481ab911d6f.qcow2 on 'dewey'.
Migrations really don't go well when the target disk doesn't exist. I'm
not certain why this is, I think the migration feature was mainly built
with shared storage in mind.

Yes, tried that before posting. At least, with a simple "touch" command.

Oh, you mean like this?
root@huey:/tmp# virsh migrate --live --p2p --copy-storage-all

Does virsh actually work?
I have been beating my head against a wall attempting to get virsh to
migrate a simple VM from one host to another.
I have two systems running Ubuntu 14.04 with libvirt 1.2.2. Yes, they are
bridged. Non-shared storage. Modest guest VM that only requires 100G of
disk space; there is far more available.
In trying to accomplish even the simplest migration (per every page I can
find from both the

OpenSSH+GSSAPI & HP/UX 11i...
I am trying to transition several HP/UX 11i (PA/RISC) servers from
ssh.com over to OpenSSH+GSSAPI (3.9p1) and it's complaining about the
GSSAPI include files:

-I/usr/local/ssl/include -D_HPUX_SOURCE -D_XOPEN_SOURCE
-D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED=1 -I/usr/local/krb5/include

scp/sftp user failures on HP-UX
Hi,
I have an HP server with OpenSSH 3.1p1, on which the scp and sftp are
giving strange failures. For example: scp, ssh and sftp works fine only for
the root user. But for a normal user account only the ssh part works, the
scp and sftp fails to connect.
I am running UX 11i.
Any help wil be appreciated.

SOLUTION: ssh not resolving host names on HP-UX 11i
Just in case anyone else runs across this problem, maybe someone on
this list can pass this along.
Install HP Patch PHNE_27796
Patch Description: s700_800 11.11 libnss_dns DNS backend patch
The preceding patch (PHNE_23574) was on some of the boxes that
exhibited the problem, so 23574 is not enough. If the box showed the
problem, it could only be fixed by installing PHNE_27796.
Just a bit more

ssh not resolving host names on HP-UX 11i
I posted a message about this problem late last week, never heard
anything back, so I have to assume other folks did get a working ssh
(3.7.1p2) binary built on HP-UX 11i. Just to refresh, my ssh package
that I built on HP-UX 11i works fine, except that the ssh binary doesn't
seem to go to DNS to resolve host names. So the only way I can ssh to
other machines is to put their host entries in

RE : Successfuly Building Samba 2.2.X under HP-UX 11i with gcc
Hello,
just for my information, what happens if you append "-D_HPUX_SOURCE" ?
Some (long) time ago (HP-UX 10.x), it would help compiling foreign software on HP-UX. But I had only at hand the HP compiler.
Regards,
J?r?me

HP-UX 11i not using DNS
Hello,
I've compiled openssh 3.7.1p2 on HP-UX 11i. Everything generally seems
to work except that ssh does not seem to use DNS to resolve names. If I
ssh to a machine, it only works if that machine is listed in my local
hosts file. I've absolutely checked /etc/nsswitch.conf, to no avail.
(I've verified the changes I've made in nsswitch.conf by using telnet.

ssh not resolving host names on HP-UX 11i
Actually it really never was answered, but here's how I fixed (worked
around) it. At first I thought installing patch PHNE_27796 (libnss_dns
DNS backend patch) had fixed it. It didn't. It just flip-flopped the
problem. Prior to installing that patch, ssh would never go to DNS no
matter what was in nsswitch.conf. It appeared to only look in
/etc/hosts. After installing the patch, ssh

Samba on 3.0.22 on HP-UX 11i - mon.out?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
After a long hiatus from attention to Samba, I've started to compile the
latest version (3.0.22) on HP-UX 11i for testing. I've noticed a couple
of things.
1) For some reason, on my test system, every execution of any program
that comes in the Samba suite drops "mon.out" files everyplace.
Everything I can find about this says that
