[Bug 246] md5_crypt conflict fails
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=246
------- Additional Comments From tim at multitalents.net 2002-05-18 03:12 -------
Perhaps you are getting confused by the "MD5 password support: no" line.
configure is reporting that in error as pointed out by
Kagan Kongar <kongar at tsrsb.org.tr>
Try removing line 2026 (MD5_MSG="no") of configure.ac and run autoconf.

[Bug 369] Inconsistant exiit status from scp
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369
------- Additional Comments From devel at pitux.com 2002-09-10 19:19 -------
I confirm that this bug does exist. It's especially annoying since we use here
a lot of scripts which check for the return values of scp to indicate success
or failure.
In fact it does the good thing on nonexistent files/dirs/etc, but fails in case
of auth

windows doesn't show groups in security tab of file properties
Hello,
I've a Samba 3.0.23c-SerNet-Debian PDC (no BDC or anything) connected to
OpenLDAP. I thought it would work smoothly, I didn't discover any
problems until today.
I'am trying to create a ntconfig.pol with poledit, but it doesn't show
me any groups to add to the policy. I can see all the users by the way.
To eleminate a poledit problem I used the security tab (in german

music on hold without mpg123
Hello list,
after the last time that mpg123 wen ballistic on our production system, we
decided to skip mp3 playback altogether and to go for raw files. After
half an hour playing with mpg123 and sox parameters in order to translate
a mp3 file to a wav file that can be streamed back through * with no need
for an mp3 decoder, I thought I'd post the result to the list to avoid
wasting

I get the following error when I stuff my seesion with more than 4k of
data.

My problem is that I obviously need a fatter session.
How do other users by-pass the 4k restriction on session variables?
Regards,

Citing R in journal articles (or the failure to)
Hi all
I was reading a paper recently in which I was surprised to see an R package of mine obviously used, without acknowledgement. Indeed, R itself was used without any acknowledgment. So I contact the author about these issues, who said (in part):
Regarding the R packages, I used the "tweedie" and "statmod" for my
analyses as you pointed out.

(Yet another) Music on hold problem and another...
Hi,
I've recently installed Asterisk and have got the majority of it
configured (what an excellent piece of software it is, too), but I'm
having a couple of problems.
The first one is with music on hold! I've downloaded and
installed mpg123 as specified:
># whereis mpg123
>mpg123: /usr/local/bin/mpg123
It's the correct version:

Understanding glm family documentation: dev.resids
Hi all
Consider the family function, as used by glm. The help page says the value of the family object is a list, one element of which is the following:
dev.resids function giving the deviance residuals as a function of (y, mu, wt).
But reading any of the family functions (eg poisson) shows that dev.resids is a function that computes the *square* of the deviance residuals (at least, by

X11 forwarding problem
hi
i have problems with the X11 forwarding,
TCP port forwarding works fine:
the tcp ports bind to ipv4 and ipv6 localhost,
but the X11 port (6010) binds ONLY to the
ipv6 localhost, which does not work with
the normal ipv4 programs :-(
is this a bug, or is this an hidden feature

OggEnc - command line parameter bug?
Hi,
When I encode a file, with the command line (for example):
oggenc h:\wavs\abc.wav -a sunshine
as expected, it creates a file h:\wavs\abc.ogg. However, adding the '-t' command line option:
oggenc h:\wavs\abc.wav -a sunshine -t MrSunny
causes it to now create a file called MrSunny.ogg This behaviour could be expected if I had used the '-n' option, but I have not, so
