cross-subnet browsing
I have 2 subnets. Subnet 1 has an NT WINS server. Subnet 2 has a Samba server acting as domain master browser and local master browser for a workgroup. If I view the network neighborhood from a Win 95 PC on Subnet 1 (call it PC_A), I can see all the hosts in the workgroup on both subnets. If I view the network neighborhood from a Win 95 PC on Subnet 2 (call it PC_B), I cannot see PC_A. I

[LLVMdev] How to define complicated instruction in TableGen (Direct3D shader instruction)
Actually the problems that Tzu-Chien Chiu are encountering are similar to what should be done for generating SSE code in the X86 backend and also other SIMD instruction sets. I think LLVM neeeds to add instructions for permuting components, extracting and injecting elements in packed types. If the architecture has instructions which can do permutations for each instruction (for example

[LLVMdev] How to define complicated instruction in TableGen (Direct3D shader instruction)
Each register is a 4-component (namely, r, g, b, a) vector register. They are actually defined as llvm packed [4xfloat]. The instruction: add_sat r0.a, r1_bias.xxyy, r3_x2.zzzz Explaination: '.a' is a writemask. only the specified component will be update '.xxyy' and '.zzzz' are swizzle masks, specify the component permutation, simliar to the Intel SSE permutation

combining expressions in mathplot
Is there a cleaner way of combining two expressions. This example works and gives what I want plot(1:10) aa <- expression(alpha==.05) bb <- expression(beta ==.80) aabb <- expression(alpha==.05 ~ ", " ~ beta ==.80) text(5, 10, aa) text(5, 9, bb) text(5, 8, aabb) text(5,1, parse(text=paste(deparse(aa[[1]]), deparse(bb[[1]]), sep="~"))) text(5,2,

CallerID settings
Hi all, What should I do when my E1/SIP provider need a specific callerid(num) setting for my outgoing calls? My problem is that if I use Set(CALLERID(num)=XXYY) then I got XXYY on the cdr src field, losing info of the real src of the call. What is the best way out? (Preferably tech independent) Thanks, Gabriel -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Validating alignment of NTFS/VMDK/ZFS blocks
Good evening, I understand that NTFS & VMDK do not relate to Solaris or ZFS, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience of checking the alignment of data blocks through that stack? I have a VMware ESX 4.0 host using storage presented over NFS from ZFS filesystems (recordsize 4KB). Within virtual machine VMDK files, I have formatted NTFS filesystems, block size 4KB. Dedup is turned on.

R string comparisons may vary with platform (plain text)
For many scientific applications one is really dealing with ASCII characters and LC_COLLATE="C", even if the user is running in non-C locales. What robust approaches (if any?) are available to write code that sorts in a locale-independent way? The Note in ?Sys.setlocale is not overly optimistic about setting the locale within a session. Compiling OPENssh to use random package
Hello, I have attempted several times to compile openssh3.1p1 that will use a random package called ANDIrand. How can I compile and get ssh to use this random number generator? I have tried the --rand-helper switch with my configure and still it does not work. I am compiling in Solaris 8, and need to then create a package that can be used on Solaris 6, Solaris 7, and Solaris 8. Thanks, Eric

Regular expressions: offsets of groups
Dear list! > gregexpr("a+(b+)", "abcdaabbc") [[1]] [1] 1 5 attr(,"match.length") [1] 2 4 What I want is the offsets of the matches for the group (b+), i.e. 2 and 7, not the offsets of the complete matches. Is there a way in R to get that? I know about gsubgn and strapply, but they only give me the strings matched by groups not their offsets. I could write

Escape comma in the LDAP passdb subquery configuration
Hi I have to configure the LDAP passdb to execute a subquery defining dinamically the new DN to use. For example: pass_attrs = @mail=mail=%{login_user},dc=%{login_domain},dc=example,dc=com,\ =proxy=y,\ =host=%{ldap:mailHost at mail} In the previous example, the problem is the use of "," for DN representation, which is also the separator for the attribute
