RES: OpenSSH with slow login
I gueess it is not a DNS problem, because either using name or IP, I have always the problem. I guess the problem is that I am using ssh on inetd.conf (sshd -i), so It has to generate a key each time I start a session. openssh on HPUX 11i
In case this hasn't already been reported or discussed... It took some doing for me to get openssh working on HPUX 11i. The fixes are quite simple. First, one must have the IPV6 package installed: em 512# swlist -l product | grep IPV6 IPV6AA A.01.01.5D IPv6 11i product Second, I have to edit config.h to undefine HAVE_GETADDRINFO. Without IPV6, ssh can't connect

Building 3.0p1 on HPUX 10.2, gcc, zlib 1.1.4
Hi everybody, I've never posted here before but I seem to be having a similar problem to what Tim Rice had in July, namely when running the configure script I get the following: configure: error: *** zlib missing - please install first or check config.log *** However, I have definitely installed zlib (see below): dngwks1:/tmp/openssh-3.0p1 # swlist # Initializing... # Contacting target

OpenSSH with slow login
Hi, I have installed Openssh on a HP-UX 11.00 and I am having a problem. It lasts 5 minutes to login, after I enter my login and password. I try to connect from a Windows machine having a Tera Term SSH client to the HP UX with the OpenSSH server ? Why does it take so long time (5 minutes) to establish a connection from a remote machine to this openssh server ? When I do Telnet to the same

"ksh: scp: not found"
I upgraded a compiled version of ssh-1.2.27 to a swinstalled depot of OpenSSH_2.5.1p1 on HPUX-11.00. I created links in /usr/local/bin/<ssh program> pointing to /opt/openssh2/bin/<ssh program>. Ssh works. Scp does not. HP support does not support ssh. Below the line you will find the output of a verbose scp command from the server to it self.

keyboard-interactive authentication mehtod?
Hi all, I noticed that support for the keyboard-interactive user authentication method is mentioned on the "todo" list in the README.openssh2 file. Is anybody actively working on this? Thanks, Mike -- Michael Kiernan mkiernan at avantgo.com +1-650-638-7581

status of openssh-2
Hi, My name is Stefan Mangard and I plan to implement an extension to ssh as a final project in a cryptography class. Since I want to use an open source of ssh, I decided to use the openssh implementation. I am currently working with openssh-1.2.3, but I'd also like to implement my extension for protocol 2, I wanted to ask you how far the development of the implementation of openssh-2 is.

Reproducible Printer Properties PANIC in Samba 3.0.22-25 (CIFS/9000 A2.03.01)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Good day all, I am running CIFS/9000 (which is based on Samba 3.0.22 with, I'm guessing, security and serious bug fixes through 3.0.25 -- it's not all that clear), and running all of this on an HP-UX 11.11 PA-RISC server. The problem I have is when I do a right-click on a mapped printer and ask for the properties, my connected daemon

Are there any current, in play plans, to multi-thread rsync?
I am looking for an enhancement to multi-thread or parallelize rsync. Are there any plans that would allow one to set a parameter, like 'number_of_threads' and rsync will ship multiple files at the same time? Status of SSH 2.0 protocol support?
Just to bring everyone up to date, could we get a report on the status of support for the 2.x protocol? The home page says "next major release" - is that 1.3 or 2.0? And is there any feel for when it'll be generally available? -- John Hardin Internal Systems Administrator Apropos Retail Management Systems, Inc. <johnh at aproposretail.com>

openssh-2.0beta ssh_config Protocol parsing error.
Hello all, It seems that openssh-2.0beta's ssh doesn't parse /etc/ssh/ssh_config (or equivalent) properly. If I add e.g. 'Protocol 2,1' there, ssh will just complain '/etc/ssh/ssh_config line 30: garbage at end of line.'. I've tried changing the line, etc. but the error remains. True enough, README.openssh2 only mentions ~/.ssh/config, but IMO this must have been an

SSH2
I've installed and configured openssh 2.1.1p4. It's working great, however, I've been asked to implement SSH2 functionality. I have a question with the README.openssh2 file. It says that all I need to do is: howto: 1) generate server key: $ ssh-keygen -d -f /etc/ssh_host_dsa_key -N '' 2) enable ssh2: server: add 'Protocol
