Version two of progressbar for scp/sftp
Again, this has been lightly tested. I think there still are a few glitchs. 1. stole progressmeter() from scp.c - clean up and simplified a little to remove the 'flag' status. It now understands how to initialize itself and how to terminate itself. Along with a malloced status bar instead of the original fix width bar. 2. removed all initialization code from scp.c for progressmeter()

sftp client reget reput
we have implemented this function for 3.1p1, and have been using it in production sense may 2002. The patch has been ported to 3.7.1p2, we have been using it in 3.7.1p2 for awhile, if anyone is interested, here it is. This is the same patch David Bradford talked about on 2002-06-05 Regards, Greg Hayes diff -u -r openssh-3.7.1p2/sftp-client.c openssh-3.7.1p2_sftp/sftp-client.c ---

SFTP Status Bar..
This is the LAST version I plan on doing.. If I hear no feed back good or bad. Then I'll assume I've wasted my time on a feature that people whine about but don't care to try. This is against 3.0.2pX so it should be VERY easy for anyone to test. - Ben diff -ur openssh-3.0.2p1/misc.c openssh/misc.c --- openssh-3.0.2p1/misc.c Tue Jul 3 23:46:58 2001 +++ openssh/misc.c Wed Feb 6

[PATCH] Add getlink command to sftp
One of the features missing in sftp is the ability to transfer a symlink. This patch adds a new command to sftp which performs this transfer. Note that it uses messages that already exist in the protocol between client and server. This diff is based on OpenSSH 3.4p1. *** sftp-client.c@@\main\1 Tue Oct 1 17:26:20 2002 --- sftp-client.c Wed Oct 23 15:57:34 2002 *************** *** 666,672 ****

3.7.1p2 sftp recurse patch
This patch is against OpenSSH 3.7.1p2 sources. It adds recursive (directory) downloading and uploading. Criticism/suggestions welcome. I would imagine the time official support is added, recursive operations will be handled on a per-command basis as a flag as opposed to a global toggle command (such as get -r)? diff -ru openssh-3.7.1p2/sftp-int.c openssh-3.7.1p2-patched/sftp-int.c ---

[PATCH] Adds support for Append command (SSH_FXF_APPEND) to sftp_client
Dear list, Attached is a patch that implements the "append" command in a sftp session, as describe in "draft-ietf-secsh-filexfer-01" and further releases. It is for and had been tested on the current version of OpenSSH (the Portable CVS) and it works, also against non patched versions. The patch is "simple" it it just like the "do_upload" function in

Quick sftp status indicator.
I think my first send was eaten by elm.. Yuck I hate this programm.. Anyawys, first the disclaimer: This is barely tests, I submit this to the general population, but I will not submit this for review of rest of the OpenSSH team. Mainly because it is horrible at best. dealing with alarm() in a sane way is not fun. It does not compile clean, but works. IF anyone cares to clean it up..

Stop words, fields, StandardAnalyzer quagmire
Hello, I''m using: Ruby 1.8.6, Rails 1.2.3, ferret 0.11.4, acts_as_ferret from svn stable. I''ve had quite a day wrestling with trying to remove the use of stopwords. The problem was that when searching for words like "no" or "the", no results were found. I found a confusing thing behavior that has taken me some time to figure out, and I hope sharing it

sftp client: upload from pipe
Hi, the sftp client from openssh package can't upload data from local pipe to remote file. For example, such a command fails: $ cat file | sftp -b <(echo 'put /dev/stdin /directory/filename') -i ~/.ssh/key user at remote.host sftp> put /dev/stdin /directory/filename /dev/stdin is not a regular file What is a purpose for such a behaviour and limitation? As experiment, I removed

question about finding with :include versus nested dynamic finder (bad form? efficiency?)
I have a User model and a Status model. Each user is given a certain status, either "Accepted", "Rejected", "OnHold", "Declined", etc. I need to find all users with a status of "Accepted", so I''m doing the following: in User.rb: belongs_to :status def accepted_users status_id =

how to get value from the post on the List page
Hi, I''m new to Rails. I''m building a candidates tracking system for recruiting. I have a List page, but instead of listing every candidate, I only wanted to list the candidates in certain statuses. The first time List page is hit, by default, it lists candidates in status < 9. But on the List page, there is a dropdown where all the statuses are listed, so that when user

question about enforcing constraints in the model
I have a user model and a status model. Each user has a specific status (accepted, rejected, declined, etc). I have a form that allows the adminstrator to change certain options for a user, including their status. I''m using a drop down menu populated with the different status values, and a default option that says "Choose a new status" with a value of "". I want to

Basic Many-to-One association
Sari, I got the list display working without doing an explicit find. It took a bit of a conceptual convulution to get it to work. I was thinking of it has Many Cases have One status. There is no support for Many-to-One so I was a bit stumped. Then I realized you just have to turn around your thinking to say One Status has Many Cases. Thus it is a One-to-Many relationship. That is descriped

Simple file download doesn't work - please help!
I need to get a simple file download to work. I want users to be able to click ''I agree'' after scrolling through a license agreement and the click initiates a download of some software which is in a zip file. I tried using send_file and had some problems I previously posted about. So I am trying to not use send_file. (If anyone can help me with my previous send_file post, that
