OpenSSH 3.2.2 released : chroot
You must mean your most wanted feature. Mine is the integration of Simon's GSS patches. Status of KRB5 support?
Just curious. I'd like to move up to 3.1px since there are security updates associated with it. Also, any pointers on implementing an kerberized external login server would be helpful. Kerberos Books/Documents
Hey all, I've tried kerberizing SSH but I can't get it to login. I've read a lot of documentation, but I wish I could find a "cook-book" type of setup or how-to to get this beast working correctly, or to at least verify it's working per a specification. With that, I'm interested in what books/docs/etc does anyone recommend to get a good understanding of: 1.

Kerberos/AFS options in ssh/sshd while disabling them in configure
Dear OpenSSH developers, Hello, I strongly support this suggestion ie. adding the sentence "This option has been disabled at compile time" as appropriate. It would be even more helpful if you said how to enable it (krb) at compile time. Remember, this is the only documentation available. I spent some time wondering about this before searching the archives. Ok, while we are on the

Does OpenSSH 3.x support KRB5 directly?
Just curious. There seems to be an awful lot in the source, but no actual configure option. Please advise. -- Austin Gonyou Systems Architect, CCNA Coremetrics, Inc. Kerberos in OpenSsh 2.9.9p2
I note with interest that Kerberos support is now available (for the version 1 protocol, at least) in OpenSSH 2.9.9p2. However, it does not build with MIT Kerberos, due to the usual Heimdal/MIT library differences. These look, by and large, like the same problems I encountered when porting Dan Kouril's patch to MIT Kerberos - so I'm having a go at fixing them (my GSSAPI patches need

Files >2GB?
OpenSSH 2.9p2 portable doesn't seem to like files >2GB. Is there an option for this, or a way to enable file transfers of files >2GB using scp or sftp? (no subject)X-forward
No "ssh -X hostname" doesn't work. But when you "export DISPLAY=..." it works!? I set the the Display Hack so that I can see my IP with "env" or "echo SSH_CLIENT" when I'm connect via VPN-Tunnel and I don't know my IP in the Net I'm connected through. Does OpenSSH have tcp_wrappers *built-in* or just compatibility?
I was under the impression it was just compatibility, and not actually built-in, but I thought I'd ask here and just make sure of what I'm saying. :) TIA. -- Austin Gonyou Systems Architect, CCNA Coremetrics, Inc. Feature request: Discussion.
I was wondering if anyone would find the syntax: ssh://someuser at host#port or even as simple as ssh://somehost#port useful? -- Austin Gonyou Systems Architect, CCNA Coremetrics, Inc. Curious about final KRB5/GSSAPI patch inclusion.
What is the target version for all the KRB5 bits to be in place. I know there is very much in place right now, but I remember someone mentioning there was just a GSSAPI/MITKRB5 patch being waited for. TIA. -- Austin Gonyou Systems Architect, CCNA Coremetrics, Inc. OpenSSH 3.2.2 supports kerberos5 but....
I can't seem to login with only a TGS? (i.e. no password) Do I need another patch to have that part work? Password auth seems to be working against the KDC just fine. Kerberos 5 and OpenSSH 2.5.2p2
Are there any patches to enable Krb5 for OpenSSH? I'm trying to get a proof of concept done so I can eventually roll Krb5 and OpenSSH out as our primary AA infrastructure and I'm having a hard time of it. Can someone point me to info to help? -- Austin Gonyou Systems Architect Coremetrics, Inc. Phone: 512-796-9023 email: austin at coremetrics.com

Fully kerberized mail system
Hello, Is it possible to use Dovecot in a fully kerberized mail system? We have configured authentication via kerberos, now we would like the imap deamon to access a kerberized nfs file system. Has any one any experiences? Regards, Matthew. -- Dr Matthew Williams MEng PhD MBCS Systems Administrator - IT Services - Bangor University Prifysgol Bangor Tel: (44) (0)1248 382414

kerberized-nfs - any experts out there?
Is anyone on the list using kerberized-nfs on any kind of scale? I've been fighting with this for years. In general, when we have issues with this system, they are random and/or not repeatable. I've had very little luck with community support. I hope I don't offend by saying that! Rather, my belief is that these problems are very niche/esoteric, and so beyond the scope of typical
